QAD Inc. is seeking an SRM Architect to define the target architecture for SRM, EQMS, and Demand & Delivery within our SaaS products. You will be the internal technical authority, guiding outsourced engineering and ensuring alignment with business commitments.
Lead modernization roadmap, establish standards, oversee AWS deployment, multi-tenant designs, and secure, scalable integrations. Strong ownership and influence across product and engineering teams required.
QAD is a leading provider of ERP solutions purpose-built for manufacturing industries — automotive, life sciences, food & beverage, high tech, and industrial. Serving thousands of global manufacturers, QAD's Adaptive Manufacturing Cloud helps companies operate with greater precision, agility, and intelligence.
Enterprise software is entering a third era. The first gave manufacturers a System of Record — ERP that answered 'what do we have and what did we commit to?' The second gave them Data Infrastructure — the ability to move, analyse, and query that data at scale. The third era is domain-specific intelligence: AI agents that can act autonomously on manufacturing data, but only if that data has been given the context, relationships, and governed rules that allow an agent to reason correctly.
The SRM Architect owns the technical direction of QAD's SaaS products outside the core ERP: Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Enterprise Quality Management (EQMS), and Demand & Delivery. Development on these products is largely outsourced, so this person is the internal technical authority who sets direction and holds partners to it. Major customer commitments, including a strategic co-investment partnership, depend on this role.
Responsibilities
Define the target architecture and a practical modernization roadmap for SRM, EQMS, and Demand & Delivery, with engineering and product leaders.
Make and document architecture decisions on application design, AWS deployment, multi-tenancy, integrations, data, security, and performance.
Set technical standards for outsourced engineering partners, review their designs and delivered work, and resolve technical risks before they reach customers.
Translate customer and commercial commitments into feasible designs, estimates, dependencies, and milestones, and see them through delivery.
Build the internal knowledge needed to sustain these products independently of any one partner.
Required Skills:
Architecture leadership for enterprise SaaS products, across both multi-tenant and single-tenant deployment models.
Strong hands-on depth in Java and/or .NET (C#), with the ability to assess designs in both.
Strong AWS experience and fluency with modern cloud-native architecture.
A record of directing outsourced or partner engineering teams and owning their technical outcomes.
High agency: owns outcomes end to end, challenges weak designs, and leads with authority without waiting for direction.
Preferred:
Experience with supplier management, quality management, or supply chain software.
Experience modernizing existing products without disrupting customers.
What success looks like
Customer commitments delivered on time, partners held to a clear technical standard, and an architectural roadmap the business can plan against.
The most important trait is ownership. Strong technical depth without the drive to take charge will not succeed in this role.
