Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure (Compute, Networking, Identity, Monitor, Key Vault).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep/ARM).
• Scripting/automation skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

About Project/Role:

We are seeking an SRE/DevOps Engineer to support Microsoft Azure Cloud Services. This role operates within Microsoft's Secure Future Initiative (SFI) and Quality Excellence Initiative (QEI) frameworks, ensuring platform resiliency, security-first operations, and engineering excellence at global scale.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain Zero Trust security principles across infrastructure and deployment pipelines
• Enforce identity & secrets management best practices (MFA, passwordless auth, credential rotation)
• Secure CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and deployment infrastructure per SFI Pillar 4 (Protect Engineering Systems)
• Apply network segmentation, tenant isolation, and least-privilege access controls
• Participate in incident response, threat detection, and post-incident reviews aligned with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (Detect, Respond, Recover)
• Ensure all services meet SFI "Secure by Default" standards and protections enabled without customer action
• Own service health, availability, and SLA/SLO metrics for assigned Azure services
• Implement robust change management processes with quality gates and rollback strategies
• Conduct thorough code reviews , especially for AI-generated/Copilot-assisted code . Ensuring robustness and security
• Drive platform resiliency through chaos engineering, fault injection testing, and failure mode analysis
• Improve incident management workflows: detection, triage, mitigation, and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Build and maintain observability (monitoring, alerting, dashboards) to proactively detect degradation
• General SRE/DevOps
• Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates)
• Manage Kubernetes clusters (AKS), container orchestration, and microservices deployments
• Automate toil reduction through scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
• Collaborate with Microsoft FTEs on live site reviews, capacity planning, and deployment readiness

Required Qualifications:

• 5–8 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure (Compute, Networking, Identity, Monitor, Key Vault)
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Bicep / ARM)
• Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
• Understanding of Zero Trust architecture and identity management (Entra ID, RBAC, Managed Identities)
• Experience with observability stacks (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent)
• Incident management and on-call experience

Preferred/Good to Have

• Familiarity with Microsoft's SFI pillars and QEI quality frameworks
• Experience with chaos engineering tools (Azure Chaos Studio, Litmus)
• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001
• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-500)
• Experience reviewing AI-generated code for quality and security
• Background in large-scale distributed systems
