Job summary

Side is seeking a Sr Test Engineer to lead QA for mobile game features, collaborating with development teams to craft test strategies and regression suites. You will mentor juniors, log defects, and ensure delivery commitments are met in an Agile setting.

The role requires strong manual and automated testing experience across mobile platforms, with Android/iOS expertise and a passion for gaming.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as QA with at least 1 year in a senior role.
• Hands-on mobile testing across devices; PC/Console a bonus.
• Extensive mobile gaming testing experience.
• AR testing preferred.
• Team management experience.
• Strong Android/iOS knowledge.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Highly organized with good time management.
• Willing to overtime on request; proactive and adaptable.
• Familiar with Agile and QA processes; strong problem-solving.
• Experience with Jira and TestRail in defect/test management.
• Passion for games and understanding of player experience.
• Flexible to night shift timings: 10:00 PM–7:00 AM or 6:30 AM–3:30 PM.

Job description

Side is seeking a highly skilled Sr Test Engineer to join our dynamic quality assurance team. In this role, you will lead comprehensive testing efforts to ensure our gaming products meet the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with development teams to develop robust test strategies, execute test plans, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both manual and automated testing, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Responsibilities

• Own endtoend QA responsibilities for game features across mobile platforms
• Design, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, reviews, retrospectives), providing timely updates and feedback • Identify, log, track, and prioritize defects, ensuring a wellmaintained and actionable bug database
• Support QA team members within the assigned pod, ensuring alignment with processes, priorities, and deliverables
• Adhere to established QA processes and best practices, while contributing to continuous process improvement Communicate effectively with overseas clients and stakeholders regarding QA status, risks, and delivery commitments
• Mentor and guide junior QA testers, supporting skill development and maintaining quality standards
• Serve as a backup for QA Leads, handling team coordination, task ownership, and decision making when required

Skills & Experience Required

• 3+ Years as QA, with 1+ Years experience as Senior
• Hands-on testing experience on Mobile platforms (PC & Console experience is a bonus)
• Extensive hands-on experience playing a wide variety of games, especially mobile games
• AR game testing experience is preferred
• Team management experience
• Strong understanding of key features and functionality of Android and iOS platforms
• Excellent communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Highly organized, with strong time management skills and accountability
• Willingness to work overtime on weekdays or weekends based on project requirements
• Proactive, self-drive, and willing to continuously learn and adapt
• Comfortable working in an Agile development environment while managing multiple priorities
• Solid knowledge of QA methodologies and game development pipelines
• Experience using defect and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar
• Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong passion for games with a deep understanding of gaming mechanics and player experience
• Must be flexible to work in shift timings: 10:00 PM 7:00 AM or 6:30 AM 3:30 PM
