Job summary

Wipro Limited is seeking a Sr Test Engineer with strong JMeter hands-on expertise and deep performance engineering know-how. The role emphasizes end-to-end JMeter implementation, heap/thread/GC/log analysis, and robust observability (Dynatrace preferred) with Java and Groovy scripting.

Exposure to AI/automation and test frameworks is beneficial. The candidate will design and execute automation frameworks, author test plans, automate lifecycle activities, and maintain status dashboards while

• 5+ years of hands-on JMeter experience.
• End-to-end JMeter implementation: building and maintaining complex test plans.
• Strong understanding of performance engineering principles and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Instrumental in understanding the test requirements and test case design of the product.
• Authoring test planning with knowledge on business requirements and corresponding testable requirements.
• Automate the test life cycle process through VB macros, scheduling, GUI automation, etc.
• Design and execute the automation framework and reporting.
• Develop and automate tests for software validation and setting up test environments, test plans and cases.
• Ensure defects are properly described with replication patterns and tracked to closure.
• Design and timely release of test status dashboards to stakeholders.
• Ensure SLA compliance and provide feedback on usability and quality risks.

Job Description:

Sr Test Engineer

1. JMeter Hands On (35% - Primary Focus)5+ years of hands‑on JMeter experience
Deep expertise in end‑to‑end JMeter implementation:
- Building and maintaining complex test plans from scratch
- Advanced thread group configuration and execution
2. Performance Engineering & RCA (30% - Mandatory)
Strong understanding of performance engineering principles and methodologies
- Expert‑level capability in analyzing and interpreting:
- Heap Dumps – memory profiling, garbage collection analysis, memory leaks identification
- Thread Dumps – thread state analysis, deadlock detection, thread contention issues
- GC Logs – garbage collection patterns, pause times, tuning optimization
- Application Logs – error tracking, bottleneck identification, correlation with performance metrics
3. Observability (Dynatrace Preferred) (15% - Mandatory)
Core Technical Requirements (Mandatory)
4. Coding/Scripting Languages (15% - Mandatory)
- Java – custom JMeter samplers, plugins, and framework development
- Groovy – JMeter JSR223 sampler scripting and assertions
5. AI/Automation/Advanced Analytics Exposure (5% - Non‑Mandatory, Good To Have)
- Familiarity with AI/ML models for anomaly detection in performance data
- Test automation frameworks (Selenium, REST Assured)
- Advanced data analytics and statistical analysis

Do

• Instrumental in understanding the test requirements and test case design of the product
  • Authoring test planning with appropriate knowledge on business requirements and corresponding testable requirements
  • Implementation of Wipro's way of testing using Model based testing and achieving efficient way of test generation
  • Ensuring the test cases are peer reviewed and achieving less rework
  • Work with development team to identify and capture test cases, ensure version
  • Setting the criteria, parameters, scope/out-scope of testing and involve in UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
  • Automate the test life cycle process at the appropriate stages through vb macros, scheduling, GUI automation etc
• To design and execute the automation framework and reporting
  • Develop and automate tests for software validation by setting up of test environments, designing test plans, developing test cases/scenarios/usage cases, and executing these cases
  • Ensure the test defects raised are as per the norm defined for project / program / account with clear description and replication patterns
  • Detect bug issues and prepare file defect reports and report test progress
  • No instances of rejection / slippage of delivered work items and they are within the Wipro / Customer SLA's and norms
  • Design and timely release of test status dashboard at the end of every cycle test execution to the stake holders
  • Providing feedback on usability and serviceability, trace the result to quality risk and report it to concerned stakeholders
