Job summary

Accenture Song is seeking a Senior Technical Test Engineer to lead automation initiatives across UI and API testing in Kochi. You will drive test automation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and advocate AI-assisted testing to improve quality and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of STLC experience, strong hands-on skills with Playwright, Cypress, Karate, and related tools, plus Java, JavaScript/TypeScript expertise. On-site in Kochi with Agile ceremonial participation.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Cypress for UI automation.
• Solid API testing/automation using Playwright, Karate, Rest Assured, Postman or equivalents.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript; Java required; Python advantageous.
• Good understanding of OOP and coding best practices.
• Expertise in Cucumber, JUnit, or TestNG automation frameworks.
• RESTful API and backend service testing experience.
• Experience with Git-based version control (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
• Familiarity with STLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
• Awareness of AI-assisted testing tools and AI-powered workflows.

As a Senior Technical Test Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in our test automation initiatives, helping to drive quality across the board.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for both UI and API testing.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Build, maintain, and enhance reusable automation frameworks using industry best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA team members to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve automation, environment, and test execution issues.
• Review automation scripts and test execution results to ensure adherence to automation standards and best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and workflows to improve requirement analysis, test design, automation development, and overall QA productivity.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Document defects, test execution results, and project status updates clearly and concisely.
• Drive continuous improvements in automation practices, testing processes, and overall software quality.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Professional and Technical Skills

• 3–5 years of experience across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Strong hands-on experience with both Playwright and Cypress for UI automation.
• Solid hands‑on experience in API testing and API automation using Playwright API, Karate, Rest Assured, Postman, or equivalent frameworks.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reusable automation frameworks.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with Java is required, and Python is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and coding best practices.
• Expertise in automation frameworks such as Cucumber, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and backend service testing.
• Experience working with Git‑based version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and DevOps practices.
• Good understanding of AI‑assisted Software Testing and the effective use of AI tools for requirement analysis, test design, automation development, and QA productivity.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills

• Good to have experience in integrating automation suites with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or NPM.
• Experience in performance testing using k6, JMeter, Gatling, or equivalent.
• Exposure to mobile automation frameworks such as Appium or Detox.
• Experience with cross-browser and cross-device testing using BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or equivalent platforms.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized testing environments.
• Understanding of application security testing practices and tools such as OWASP ZAP.
• Experience generating automation reports using tools such as Allure Reports, Extent Reports, or equivalent.
• Exposure to Component Testing and modern frontend testing practices.
• Knowledge of cloud‑based testing platforms such as AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, or Sauce Labs.
• Good to have knowledge or experience in the E‑commerce domain.
