Responsibilities

• Package and deploy applications in non-production environments, ensuring alignment with project requirements and standards.

• Test installation, upgrade, and uninstallation in non-prod environments to validate package integrity.
• Coordinate and execute endpoint patching in non-prod environments for security and updates.
• Monitor, test, and validate patch deployments with minimal disruption to development.
• Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, tests, and remediation actions.
• Identify and address packaging and deployment issues, troubleshooting and implementing solutions.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Application Packager & Deployment for Non-production environment is responsible for preparing, deploying, and validating application packages in non-production environments. This role collaborates closely with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth and reliable application releases. The specialist conducts thorough testing of installation, upgrade, and uninstallation processes, maintains accurate documentation, and proactively resolves packaging and deployment issues. The position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement in support of successful project delivery.

How You’ll Succeed (Responsibilities):

• Package and deploy applications in non-production environments, ensuring alignment with project requirements and organizational standards.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to coordinate application releases and resolve deployment-related issues.
• Conduct installation, upgrade, and uninstallation testing in non-prod environments to validate package integrity and performance.
• Coordinate and execute endpoint patching activities in non-production environments to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure.
• Monitor, test, and validate patch deployments on endpoints, addressing any issues and ensuring minimal disruption to development and testing processes.
• Maintain accurate records of packaging and deployment activities, including documentation of processes, test results, and remediation actions.
• Identify and address packaging and deployment issues, proactively troubleshooting and implementing solutions to support successful releases.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on packaging and deployment processes and assisting with process optimization.

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:

• Education-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Experience: 5+ years of experience

Must Have Skills

• 5-7 years of hands‑on experience in application packaging, with at least 2 years directly creating packages using InstallShield, APPV 5.x, MSIX, and PowerShell scripting
• Strong knowledge of Windows registry, file/folder security, local/domain user security, and operating system concepts
• Proven experience testing and validating application packages based on QA checklists and packaging standards
• Familiarity with troubleshooting installation issues and resolving conflicts related to application deployment
• Ability to document testing procedures, results, and remediation actions clearly and accurately
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with packaging and deployment teams
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques to interpret security metrics
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Project management skills to coordinate remediation activities and drive initiatives.
