Zscaler, Inc. in Mohali is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Development Engineer - Automation to build and maintain automated validation frameworks for large-scale cloud security platforms.

This hybrid role reports to the Director of Software Development Engineering and blends design, development, and testing to ensure product quality at scale. You will own end-to-end SIT across UI, APIs, services and data workflows, design automatable test plans, and build UI/API automation with modern frameworks

Qualifications

• Foundational AI/ML understanding and applying AI-driven solutions.
• Hands-on UI automation with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience testing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native multi-tenant architectures in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Solid CI/CD integration, Linux troubleshooting, and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Technical knowledge of L2/L3 networking concepts (routing, VPN, IPSec, WAN).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end System Integration Testing (SIT) and quality outcomes for key platform areas including UI, APIs, services, and data workflows.
• Design and deliver effective, automatable test plans with strong coverage for functional, regression, and system integration scenarios.

Role

We are looking for a Sr. Staff Engineer to join our team. This is a Hybrid role in Mohali, reporting to the Director, Software Development Engineering in the Engineering department. This unique and challenging position bridges software design engineering and test engineering to design, develop, and deploy wide-reaching tools and frameworks that automatically verify product quality at scale.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright for end-to-end validation
• Deep experience testing distributed systems, microservices, and scalable cloud-native multi-tenant architecturesin AWS, GCP, or Azure environments
• Solid understanding of CI/CD integration, Linux troubleshooting, and containerized environments including Dockerand Kubernetes
• Technical knowledge of L2/L3 networking concepts, including routing protocols, VPN, IPSec, and WANarchitecture

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Proven experience designing scalable test frameworks covering architecture, patterns, reporting, stability, and parallelization
  Proficiency with Git, test management tools like TestRail, and issue tracking systems such as Jira
• Hands‑on experience with AI agent prompting and usage for productivity, test design, and automation support
