Job summary

Genpact is seeking a Sr. Specialist in F&A with strong expertise in Record To Report (R2R) to own end-to-end processes, ensure timely closes, and drive process improvement across GL, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.

You will lead a team of accountants and finance analysts, coordinate with auditors, and ensure governance and SOX compliance. The role requires strong accounting knowledge in GAAP/IFRS and experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/commerce/finance.
• Certifications listed in the job description.
• Experience with R2R processes and SOX/compliance required.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End R2R process ownership including journaling, GL, fixed assets, intercompany, reconciliations and reporting.
• Lead and manage a team of accountants/analysts (onshore/offshore) with coaching and reviews.
• Ensure timely financial closings (monthly/quarterly/yearly) and alignment with GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
• Maintain GL integrity, review entries, accruals and reclassifications; oversee month-end close.
• Oversee intercompany and fixed assets recording and reconciliation.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure audit readiness.
• Identify opportunities for process standardization, automation (RPA) and transformation.
• Coordinate with finance leaders and business units for end-to-end alignment; governance meetings.
• Track KPIs like close cycle time and reporting timeliness; present insights to management.
• Ensure SOX compliance and proper audit trails for financial activities.

Team Management & LeadershipLead and manage a team of accountants or finance analysts (onshore/offshore).Oversee task allocation, productivity, and team development through regular coaching and performance reviews.Ensure team members are trained on accounting policies, systems, and processes.3. Financial Reporting & ComplianceEnsure accurate preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.Oversee statutory reporting, regulatory submissions, and compliance with SOX or other audit requirements.Coordinate with external auditors and internal audit teams during financial and operational reviews.4. General Ledger OversightManage GL integrity, including review and approval of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.Oversee month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial consolidation.Maintain and monitor chart of accounts for accuracy and consistency across entities.5. Intercompany & Fixed Assets AccountingEnsure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances.Oversee the lifecycle management of fixed assets – acquisition, capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.6. Reconciliations & ControlsSupervise the preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations.Ensure proper documentation and resolution of reconciling items.Monitor internal control effectiveness and ensure audit readiness.7. Process Improvement & TransformationIdentify and implement opportunities for process standardization, automation (e.g., BlacklLine, RPA), and efficiency.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to transformation programs.Maintain up-to-date documentation of R2R processes, SOPs, and workflows.8. Stakeholder ManagementAct as the point of contact for finance leaders, controllers, and business units for R2R service delivery.Collaborate with other finance towers (P2P, O2C), tax, treasury, and IT to ensure end-to-end financial process alignment.Conduct regular governance meetings and service reviews with key stakeholders.9. Performance Monitoring & ReportingTrack and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as close cycle time, reconciliation accuracy, and reporting timeliness.Analyze trends, exceptions, and SLA performance to drive improvements.Present insights and dashboards to senior management.10.
