Solutions Architect - A role to help customers unlock Couchbase value through architectural coaching and professional service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead Customer Engagements: Guide short‑to‑medium on‑site and remote client engagements, architecture reviews, sizing, performance tuning, and deployment topology.
- Solve Complex Technical Challenges: Work with customers on deep technical problems from design to production operations, troubleshooting and escalating as needed.
- Architect for the Future of AI: Help customers implement AI solutions and data platforming best practices using Couchbase’s advanced features such as indexing, SQL++, Full‑Text Search, Vector Search, and Columnar technologies.
- Own the Lifecycle: Assist throughout implementations, installation, deployment topology planning, and establishing operational best practices.
- Be a Trusted Advisor: Present complex architectural concepts to developers, architects, and C‑level managers.
- Drive Internal Innovation: Contribute to internal technical projects including software development, benchmarking, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate Globally: Partner with sales and pre‑sales on technical escalations and growth opportunities.
- Share Knowledge: Author internal and external technical collateral such as reference architectures, whitepapers, best‑practice guides.
Qualifications
- Database Expertise: 5+ years in enterprise back‑end software consulting, strong focus on database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, distributed).
- Cloud Proficiency: 2+ years working with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
- Development Background: Strong foundation in application design and development, familiarity with traditional RDBMS schema modeling and configuration.
- AI & Modern Tech Savvy: Experience engaging with developers and using AI‑assisted development/evaluation techniques (e.g., Gemini, Claude).
- Problem‑Solving Mindset: Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex end‑to‑end technical issues.
- Exceptional Communication: Stellar presentation and communication skills, conveying technical solutions concisely to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Education: BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Languages: Fluency in English.
