Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) Bengaluru is seeking a Sr Software Robotics Development Engineer to drive power IP features across pre- to post-silicon stages and deliver robotics-enabled products.

The role requires strong C/C++ development, expertise with ROS/ROS2, and hands-on experience with Linux-based robotics systems and simulation tools such as Gazebo/Ignition/Isaac Sim. You will collaborate across teams to resolve dependencies and meet schedules while advancing AI-enabled robotics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong experience with ROS/ROS2 and C/C++ development.
• Hands-on with Linux-based robotics systems and Gazebo/Ignition/Isaac Sim.

Sr Software Robotics Development Engineer

THE ROLE:

The right engineer will drive the success of power IP (Intellectual Property) and features in AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) products through leadership & coordination, resolution of technical dependencies, and achievement of schedule commits. This is a high-visibility and widely multi-functional role, spanning pre-silicon architecture to post-silicon implementation & product delivery.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong experience with ROS or ROS2
• Solid understanding of robotics fundamentals: Perception, SLAM, navigation, motion planning, control
• Strong C/C++ development skills (object oriented design)
• Hands on experience with robotics simulation tools (Gazebo / Ignition / Isaac Sim)
• Practical experience on Linux based robotics systems
• Debugging and system level problem solving skills

Good to Have Skills

• Experience with GPU accelerated vision or AI pipelines
• Familiarity with OpenCV, GStreamer, FFmpeg
• Exposure to AI frameworks (PyTorch / ONNX Runtime)
• Experience with robot sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU) and drivers
• Knowledge of embedded systems or platform bring up
• Experience contributing to Linux or open source projects

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
