Job summary

Databricks in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Observability team to design and implement observability solutions that reveal the health and performance of our platform and infrastructure.

You will establish standards for logging, metrics, and tracing; collaborate with multiple teams to identify key observability signals; build tooling to emit, aggregate, and display metrics; participate in on‑call rotations; and help optimize costs while scaling reliability.

Qualifications

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of production-level experience in one of: Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with metrics collection, health monitoring, and observability tools.

• Optimize platform and infrastructure by analyzing system expenses, enhancing visibility, promoting mindful usage, enforcing retention policies, streamlining queries, and right-sizing resources to reduce observability costs.
