Job summary

SynapseIndia is seeking a Node.js Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable server-side applications and RESTful APIs. You will collaborate with frontend teams and product managers to deliver robust services, design efficient databases, and optimize performance.

The role requires experience with Express.js, microservices, and modern testing frameworks. You will work with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Qualifications

• Solid experience in developing server-side applications using Node.js.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, with knowledge of TypeScript being a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with Express.js or similar frameworks.
• Understanding and experience in building microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Proven ability to design and develop robust RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, or Jest.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
• Experience with WebSocket, Socket.io, or similar libraries.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools like Jira.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
