We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer with proven experience in developing firmware for smart lighting solutions. The role demands strong expertise in lighting protocols and wireless connectivity (Zigbee, BLE, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, DALI, DMX, 0–10V) to design, optimize, and deliver advanced IoT-based lighting control systems. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of embedded firmware expertise, lighting domain knowledge, and hands-on protocol integration experience to build scalable and reliable connected lighting products.
Key Responsibilities
Development of embedded firmware for smart lighting products using Zigbee, BLE, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, and traditional lighting protocols (DALI, DMX512, 0–10V).
Integrate and customize lighting control stacks (Zigbee ZCL – Lighting Clusters, BLE Mesh Lighting Models, Z-Wave Lighting Command Classes).
Ensure interoperability with lighting ecosystems (Zigbee Home Automation, Matter, BLE Mesh Lighting, Smart Energy, etc.).
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize lighting communication stacks, wireless performance, and real-time responsiveness.
Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and QA teams for complete lighting product lifecycle development.
Optimize firmware for low-power lighting devices (sensors, switches, luminaires).
Conduct protocol performance analysis, network scalability testing, and lighting scene management optimization.
Create technical documentation
Experienced in implementing secure development methodologies, ensuring robust protection of sensitive data and systems integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electronics, Communication, or Embedded Systems Engineering.
3-7 years of embedded firmware development experience with focus on IoT and lighting applications.
Strong expertise in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems.
Hands-on experience with Zigbee (ZCL Lighting Clusters, ZHA, ZSE), BLE Mesh (Lighting Models), Wi-Fi, Z-Wave (Lighting Command Classes).
Practical knowledge of lighting control protocols: DALI, DMX512, 0–10V, PWM dimming.
Experience in RTOS-based systems and low-power design for lighting nodes.
Familiarity with debugging tools (JTAG, Logic Analyzer, Oscilloscope) and protocol analyzers (Ubiqua, Wireshark).
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimization skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with MCUs used in lighting applications: Silabs (EFR32), Nordic, TI, STM32.
Exposure to Matter (CHIP) and its Lighting Device Types.
Knowledge of smart lighting ecosystems (Philips Hue, Leviton, Lutron, etc.).
Experience developing dimmable, tunable-white, or RGB/RGBW lighting solutions.
Familiarity with safety, compliance, and certification processes for lighting products.
