Job summary

GE Renewable Energy Technologies Private Limited in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Materials Engineer specializing in nondestructive testing and evaluation for Wind Turbine products. You will maintain material specs, review NDT procedures, and collaborate with suppliers to optimize production and compliance.

The role requires significant NDT experience (UT, Eddy Current, MPI, phased array), strong communication and leadership, and willingness to travel ~30% domestically and globally.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in nondestructive testing methods including UT, Eddy Current, MPI, and phased array techniques.
• Ability to interpret standards, collaborate with suppliers, and optimize production processes for NDT.
• Strong communication, leadership, and documentation skills for program and project oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintain material and special process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.
• Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.
• Evaluate the use of automatic and AI systems for NDT.
• Review supplier and service provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards and specifications.
• Service and RCA projects support - NDT process development for field inspection and validation.
• Interface with services teams and 3rd parties to develop field procedures and review results.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.
• Identify technology development opportunities for growth and investment.

Job Description Summary The successful candidate(s) will be a Senior Materials Engineer for nondestructive testing and evaluation technologies for Wind Turbine products.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Maintain material and special process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.


• Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.


• Evaluate the use of automatic and AI systems for NDT


• Review supplier and service provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards and specifications.


• Service and RCA projects support - NDT process development for field inspection and validation.


• Interface with services teams and 3rd parties to develop field procedures and review results.


• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.


• Identify technology development opportunities for growth and investment.

Required Qualifications

• For roles outside of the USA- Significant experience in NDT methods including UT, Eddy Current, MPI, phased array. Demonstrated proficiency in advanced techniques.


• For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college or at least 20 years of experience in these methods. Ability and willingness to travel 30% or more as needed domestic and global.
