Job summary

The Economist Group in India seeks a senior Salesforce professional to lead design, development, and integration efforts in a fast-paced, product-led environment. You will drive architecture decisions, ensure best practices, and mentor the regional Salesforce team.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, work within a hybrid pattern with 3+ days in the office, and contribute to ongoing improvements across Sales, Service and Experience Clouds. AI tools are welcome to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• At least Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, and Platform Developer II certifications.
• 5+ years hands-on Salesforce development experience in APEX and LWC.
• Experience with Sales, Service and Experience Clouds.
• Experience designing data models to support LDV scenarios.
• Experience building custom APIs within Salesforce.
• Extensive Salesforce integration experience.
• Knowledge of integration patterns and best approach.
• Experience designing/optimising SOQL and SOSL queries.
• Experience creating Lightning Web Components (LWC).
• Experience structuring code using APEX Enterprise Design Pattern.
• Point-and-click development in a Lightning environment.
• Experience with Salesforce developer toolkit (Apex Classes, Controllers, Triggers, Batch jobs, Queueable).
• Ability to manage code coverage within governance limits.
• Ability to support application users technically and functionally.
• Good understanding of Salesforce data model and relationships.
• Familiar with Agile and JIRA; strong teamwork.
• Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate development.

Responsibilities

• Interact with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specs and designs.
• Manage delivery of functional and technical solutions and integrations, including testing strategy.
• Ensure Salesforce solutions meet coding best practices and 90%+ code coverage.
• Build and maintain Salesforce integrations with other applications.
• Perform functional testing and gain user acceptance.
• Create and update Salesforce technical docs and training materials.
• Stay up-to-date with Salesforce releases and assess impact and value.
• Perform admin tasks like fields, page layouts, flows, reports, dashboards; use data loader.
• Provide technical leadership to the Salesforce team in India.
• Support data modeling and future object definitions.

How you will contribute:

• Proactively interact with stakeholders to understand business requirements and subsequently translate them into highly technical specifications and architectural designs;
• Manage delivery of functional and technical solutions and system integrations,including testing strategy and execution;
• Ensure proposed technical solutions runs with efficiency and meets Salesforce coding best practices and code coverage to be at 90%+;
• Manage existing and build new integrations between Salesforce and other applications;
• Perform and execute functional testing;
• Work with business colleagues to agree and gain user acceptance;
• Create and keep Salesforce-related technical documents and training materials up-to-date;
• Keep up-to-date with new Salesforce releases and promptly identify features which could add value to the Economists Salesforce users and those which will impact existing processes and require urgent attention as required;
• Perform administrative tasks such as creating or updating fields, page layouts, flows,reports and dashboards and managing data using data loader or other tools;
• Experience working in a product-led development environment, with a focus on quality and velocity to deliver our roadmap;
• Champion the continued evolving security practices of the platform;
• Provide technical leadership to our Salesforce team in India.

The ideal skills for this role are:

• At least having Salesforce Application Architect, Salesforce System Architect, and Platform Developer II certifications.
• 5+ years of hands‑on Salesforce development experience in APEX and LWC.
• Extensive experience with Sales, Service and Experience Clouds.
• Experience in designing data models that are able to support LDV scenarios.

• Deep understanding on various integration patterns and has the right experience to recommend the best approach for the given scenario.

• A good understanding of the Salesforce data model, alongside designing future object definitions and relationships.
