Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Sr. Purchasing Coordinator in India to lead sourcing for technical and engineering components, negotiate with suppliers, and maintain strong supplier partnerships.

You will review engineering drawings, issue RFQs, and ensure on-time delivery while supporting inventory planning and cost-saving initiatives. The role collaborates closely with Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to optimize procurement outcomes and supplier performance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in technical procurement, strategic sourcing, or purchasing.
• Experience purchasing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, automation, or industrial components.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, IFS, or Dynamics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for technical and engineering components.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best commercial and technical outcomes.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and BOMs to identify sourcing options.
• Raise RFQs, evaluate quotations, and prepare cost comparisons.
• Issue purchase orders and manage supplier acknowledgements.
• Track deliveries and expedite critical orders to meet project schedules.
• Work with suppliers on lead-time reductions and cost-saving initiatives.
• Resolve supplier-related quality, delivery, and invoice issues.
• Support inventory optimization and demand planning activities.
• Maintain supplier records, pricing agreements, and procurement documentation.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Engineering to clarify drawings and alternate sourcing options.

Job Description

The Sr. Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for sourcing and procuring technical, engineering, machining, and raw materials while ensuring optimal cost, quality, and on-time delivery. The role involves close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and suppliers to support business requirements, project timelines, and continuous operational efficiency.
