Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Sr Project Lead - ATS in Pune to drive the engineering and delivery of ATS systems for large‑scale railway projects. You will oversee subsystem engineering, planning, and execution, coordinate with international partners, and lead a capable ATS Engineering team.

The role demands 10+ years in railway transport systems, strong project management knowledge, and fluent English; German is an asset.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or systems engineering with railway specialization.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in railway transportation systems, preferably in the ATS domain.
• Knowledge of project management principles for project realization and execution.
• Fluent English in written and spoken form; knowledge of German is an asset.
• Independent and structured approach to work; strong team leadership and mediation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage ATS subsystem engineering and mass roll-outs within time, budget and quality constraints.
• Represent the ATS scope to PM and customers; report to line management.
• Plan, control and report project objectives; prepare required project documents.
• Coordinate complex project engineering and implementation with international partners.
• Identify and exploit additional business opportunities; manage change requests where applicable.
• Provide technical leadership of the ATS Engineering team including staffing and cross-functional coordination.

We are looking for a Sr Project Lead - ATS

You’ll make a difference by:

• Work assignments: Responsibility for the management of ATS subsystem engineering, mass roll‑outs of ATS Systems as part of large‑scale railway infrastructure projects within time, budget and quality framework: Ensuring economic success and (internal) customer satisfaction for ATS application projects. Carrying responsibility for the ATS system scope, both technical and commercial. Representation of the application scope within the project towards the PM and customer, whilst reporting to the line management (group lead).
• Application planning, controlling and reporting: For ATS projects: determination of the comprehensive project objectives from the Project Management and provided documents. Preparation of the project planning and the required project documents. Ensuring compliance with defined procedures/processes for project controlling and reporting.
• Delivery excellence: Coordination of the complex project engineering and implementation with international partners. Ensuring that the project functional goals defined with the project management and all project participants are achieved.
• Exploration of further business opportunities: Identification and exploitation of additional business opportunities during project implementation, e.g. identifying Change Requests or extending the scope towards generic application work packages.
• Leadership: Technical leadership of the ATS Engineering team including staff resource planning and coordination with the organizational units involved. Managing following team setup:
• Projects Support functions and Quality Management
• System Engineering and Hardware and Software Engineering for Interlocking and Diagnostic Systems
• Test Management
• RAMS Management
• Validation.

• Professional experience of minimum 10 years in railway transportation systems, ideally in the rail systems business, with the focus on Engineering in ATS domain
• Knowledge of project management principles for project realization and execution
• Fluent English essential both written and oral, knowledge of German an asset
• Independent and structured approach to work
• Team leadership and mediation skills between teams.
