A leading provider of mining and construction equipment is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer - Powertrain in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in Powertrain system design, specifically for diesel machines. Responsibilities include installation and commissioning of powertrains for underground mining equipment, and analyzing existing designs for performance enhancements. A degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in Powertrain system design for mining or earth-moving equipment.
• Good knowledge of vehicle mechanics and integration.
• Ability to prepare and release BOM and manage engineering changes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct powertrain installation, commissioning, and integration for underground mining equipment.
• Analyze existing designs and propose improvements for cost and energy efficiency.
• Prepare 2D and 3D assembly drawings and manage BOM changes.

Sr. Project Engineer - Powertrain

Team/Division/Work location

URE, EITC Bangalore (Work location: Epiroc Nashik)

Job Description

• Powertrain Installation, Commissioning, sizing calculations, VAVE, design & integration for Underground Mining Equipment / Trucks/ Drill Rigs.
• Analysing the existing Design and recommend improvements in terms of cost/ energy efficiency without affecting basic performance requirements.
• Preparation of 2D drawings and 3D assembly drawings
• Performing/checking BOM changes and ECNs
• Self-checking and presenting the work for internal and external reviews.
• Value addition and suggestions for improvements as applicable
• Following the design procedures, instructions and standards like ISO, DIN etc..
• Onsite support during proto development and testing
• Reporting to Team Manager in a timely and efficient manner
• Complying to company policies and follow company values and business code of practice

Mission

To provide value added design services based on the project or task assigned to him/her including component/sub-system design, BOM changes/ECNs and managing projects ensuring quality, on time delivery in full and efficiency with an objective of achieving customer satisfaction according to the set procedures and guidelines as applicable complying to all the required company policies and values

Experience Requirements

• 5-10 yrs. of experience – Mining / Earth moving equipment /off road vehicles preferably on Powertrain system Design Specifically Diesel machines.

Education

• BE / BTech / ME – Mechanical/Automobile Engineering

Tool knowledge

• Hands on Experience in Creo.
• Experience working on PLM system

Knowledge Requirement

• Good knowledge on VAVE, Diesel Powertrain designs.
• Basic knowledge in Hydraulics and Structural design
• Good knowledge of Engineering materials.
• Have Knowledge / exposure to Trouble shooting and testing.
• Knowledge of design standards
• Vehicle Mechanics & Integration.
• Modelling and detailing.
• Preparation & release of BOM and Engineering change management.
• Basic project management knowledge.
