Job summary

St Johns Research Institute (SJRI) in Bengaluru is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with exposure to Design of Machines/Engineering Design and embedded systems to support MedTech projects within the Division of Nutrition. This role involves engineering operations, lab setup, and collaboration with PIs.

The candidate will assist in equipment maintenance, data collection, and travel as needed, contributing to innovative and affordable healthcare device development.

Qualifications

• BE / B. Tech degree in Mechanical engineering.
• BE/ B. Tech degree in Mechanical engineering + two years experience or PG in Design of Machines/ Engineering Design with knowledge in embedded systems and medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide project support specifically focused on engineering operations within the research projects.
• Assist in the setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality.
• Collaborate with the scientific team to troubleshoot and resolve project-related challenges.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Coordinate communication between PIs, schedule meetings, distribute reports and keep supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI) informed of the design and development.
• Assist in clinical data collection and management related to the MedTech project.
• Support any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI) related to the project
• Willing to travel if needed.

Eligibility Criteria

• Preferred Qualifications: BE / B. Tech degree in Mechanical engineering
• Experience: BE/ B. Tech degree in Mechanical engineering + two years experience or PG in Design of Machines/ Engineering Design with knowledge in embedded systems and medical devices
• Preferred Language: English, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi
