Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited in Bengaluru invites a Sr. Program Manager to lead a motivated infotainment software development, testing and automation team for next-generation Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

You will set up processes, define scope and guide execution on embedded platforms in an agile environment. Collaborating with counterparts in Germany, you will shape architecture, concepts and feature development for MBUX, manage budgets and HR targets, and drive KPI

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded software development for automotive infotainment systems including architecture and software programming – framework, app design, implementation, testing, automation & DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of UI frameworks and technologies for embedded/mobile platforms such as Android, Qt, HTML5, OpenGL & EBGuide.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, explain connections, and develop viable solutions considering risks.
• Proven people management skills with ability to lead teams and manage priorities under pressure.
• Experience with agile collaboration models (SCRUM/KANBAN) and SWARM-based delivery.

Responsibilities

• Build & develop a high-quality team to set up infotainment software CoC for next-gen in-vehicle programs.
• Lead & develop a 15-20 member team with project-specific goals & targets.
• Drive process improvements to boost productivity & efficiency.
• Drive KPI delivery and monitor performance & delivery timelines.
• Lead the team and measure project KPIs, performance and timelines.
• Coordinate with POs, design, concept teams and suppliers to ensure alignment.

Job Description

We are looking for a leader with future-oriented, strategic & entrepreneurial thinking to lead a dynamic team of highly motivated infotainment SW development, testing & Automation team for next-generation Mercedes-Benz vehicles at our R&D Division in Bangalore, India. This role is to build, lead, manage team & work closely with our counterparts in Germany to define and implement inoftainment software, Architecture, Concepts & Feature development on the latest automotive embedded platforms for MBUX.

• Build & develop high quality team to set-up infotainment software CoC for next generation In-Vehicle Infotainment programs.
• Lead & develop 15-20 member team with project specific goals & targets.
• Experience in process improvement methodologies including strategies that will lead to increased productivity & efficiency.
• Drive the team to improve Key Performance Indicator's (KPI's)
• Lead the team and measure project KPIs, performance and delivery timelines.
• Manage critical business functions & activities to ensure SLA adherence with identification of improvement areas & filling the gaps.
• Focus towards innovation, new trends & technologies.
• Experience in agile software development process (SCRUM/KANBAN) including exposure to SWARM based methodologies for delivery.
• Open dialog with team, management, Counterpart & regular communication of strategy.
• Meet budgetary (revenue, investment) as well as HR targets (hiring) targets.
• Interactions with different stakeholders like POs, Concept, Design & different suppliers.

Qualifications

Minimumof 13 to25 years of experience in product/project management, people management, defining strategy & solutions.

• Working experience in embedded software development for automotive In-Vehicle Infotainment applications including Architecture & software programming –Framework, Application Design, Implementation, Testing, Automation & DevOps.
• Extensive knowledge in various UI frameworks and technologies for embedded and mobile platforms such as Android, Qt, HTML5, OpenGL & EBGuide.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, recognize and explain connections between cause-and-effect, and develop concrete, viable solutions, taking risks and obstacles into account.
• Strong people management skills- Ability to develop and lead team
• Ability to manage project priorities, constraints, risks & work well under pressure, manage competing demands to meet tight deadlines with strong follow through preferred.
• Ability to analyze internal/external technology trends and developments. Active participation in collaborative opportunities to gain skills in new areas to support other team members.
• Ability to work in inter-cultural, inter-disciplinary teams, across multiple time zones.
• Analytical skills for continuous evaluation of ways to improve performance and behavior, focusing on efficiency and quality.
• Demonstrated ability to implement high quality software for series development.
• Experienced in agile collaboration models (e.g. SCRUM/KANBAN)
• Experience working with automotive tier-1 suppliers a plus.
• Driven to win attitude with excellent verbal, written communication with strong interpersonal skills preferred.
