Job summary

Renesas is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to lead SQE activities for assembly/OSAT sites. You will act as the primary interface between Renesas and suppliers, driving QA improvements and leading investigations into quality excursions.

Required are 10+ years in semiconductors, strong ISO9001/IATF16949 knowledge, and hands-on problem-solving with 8D/5-Why. Global supplier management experience is a plus, based in India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Min 10 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including supplier quality, manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor assembly processes and quality control methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone analysis and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Knowledge and practical application of ISO9001, IATF16949, and Automotive Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Auditing experience based on ISO9001 and IATF16949 requirements; Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience with advanced semiconductor packaging technologies.
• Proven ability to influence suppliers and drive quality improvements.
• Experience in regional or global supplier quality management; leading cross-functional initiatives.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an individual to lead SQE (Supplier Quality Engineering) for Assembly sites (OSAT sites).

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier Quality Management & Liaison: Act as the primary quality interface between suppliers and Renesas, ensuring alignment with quality requirements, business objectives, and customer expectations. Serve as the regional SQE focal point for assigned suppliers and manufacturing sites.
• Quality Excursion Management & Corrective Actions: Lead investigations of quality excursions across internal operations, suppliers, and customers using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D), and drive effective containment, corrective actions, and preventive actions to closure.
• Supplier Audit, Certification & Change Control:: Plan and execute supplier audit programs, lead supplier certification activities, and ensure effective management of process, material, and site changes.
• Supplier Assessment, Qualification & Performance Management: Lead supplier assessments and qualifications for new subcontractors, manage supplier quality rating and performance through KPIs and scorecards, and drive improvement actions to achieve Renesas quality objectives.
• Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead quality improvement initiatives, analyze quality trends and systemic risks, manage supplier escalation activities, and influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive sustainable improvements across supplier operations.
• Training & Best Practice Deployment: Drive supplier quality capability development through training, coaching, and deployment of best-known methods and quality management practices.
