The group you’ll be a part of

The team that builds, maintains, and operates Lam’s workplaces globally so business and engineering teams can work safely and efficiently.

The impact you’ll make

• Manages the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.
• Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
• Designs and develops organizational policies relevant to the facilities department.
• Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion. May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

What you’ll do

• Manages the engineering team responsible for ensuring the R&D Labs and support buildings operate in a safe and cost‑effective manner while delivering uninterrupted facilities services at stakeholders agreed upon quality of services levels.
• Develops design engineering criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique process equipment and facility systems operating requirements and building safety codes.
• Update system design and standards documentation for safe operations and maintenance based on prior system designs, lessons learnt, and approved new technologies and innovations.
• Selects, develops, and evaluates technical staff and professional services firms needed to support technical project delivery and the efficient delivery of site facilities services.
• Provides a multi‑discipline engineering review of plans for facilities changes and equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations.
• Responsible for creating and managing site facilities services occupational safety and environmental compliance programs to meet Lam Research policies and local authorities’ regulatory requirements.
• Provide Lam specifications and standards to design firms and provide supervision and coordination of consultant resources as required.
• Responsible for Operations and Maintenance of all the technical streams in R&D lab and offices.
• Reviews quarterly tracking, monitoring, and reporting of systems capacity and operating capabilities and uptime for facilities systems and identifies operational risks and performance improvement opportunities.
• Lead cross functional engineering team meetings to share ideas, lessons learnt, and provide updates and collection inputs on new designs, project status, innovations, etc.

Who we’re looking for

• Proven experience managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, EHS, Controls).
• Strong people leadership skills including team development, mentoring, and performance management.
• Ability to develop and review design engineering criteria, performance specifications, and standards.
• Experience updating system design documentation, standards, and SOPs based on lessons learned and new technologies.
• Mandatory experience working with global SMEs, functional teams, and cross‑site stakeholders.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional engineering meetings to share updates, lessons learned, and innovation ideas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage engineers, leadership, vendors, and regulators.
• Coordinate with GWS functional SME and deliver the projects as per the Lam standards.
• Support sites with problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies as requested.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and development of a high‑performance engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or chemical engineering required with 16+ years of total experience in facilities engineering.
• Master’s degree with 14+ years of experience in facilities engineering with a focus on design, construction, and operations.

Preferred qualifications

• Provide leadership, mentoring and development of a high‑performance engineering team.
• Working knowledge of SAP for use with purchase requisitions and orders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Strong presentation skills – demonstrates presentation ability, influence, and effectiveness on complex content in front of peers.
• Awareness of EHS and regulatory knowledge to help make business decisions.
• Ability to respond to and resolve complex challenges under pressure.
• Exceptional root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills.
• Stakeholder management within various global organizations of the company.
• Exhibit attention to detail, sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced environment.
• External vendor management.
• Working in a matrixed environment, especially with international stakeholders.
• Will be required to travel to other Lam locations based on need.

Work Location Models

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on‑site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On‑site Flex and Virtual Flex. “On‑site Flex” you’ll work 3+ days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. “Virtual Flex” you’ll work 1–2 days per week on‑site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
