Job summary

ADSIPL in Maharashtra – E22 seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver capacity for world‑class data centre services. You’ll collaborate with Design Engineering, Construction, Operations and Commissioning teams to meet performance targets across APAC and beyond.

You will evaluate cooling systems, select equipment and develop construction documents. Main responsibilities include site reviews, submittal approvals and commissioning support, with travel to APAC regions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers or related facilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site reviews and coordinate with utilities and internal teams to define requirements.
• Design and collaborate to create construction document sets.
• Create designs that meet quality and budget requirements.
• Specify mechanical equipment (AHUs, CRAHs, chillers, towers) and review submittals.
• Define project scope and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Coordinate with commissioning teams to test and validate installations and performance.
• Travel to APAC sites (approx. 20%) and occasionally globally.

In this role you will drive Mechanical Engineering services design, construction and implementation of enterprise data centres, which meet quality and performance levels across the globe. You will work directly with our Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams within your assigned region in APAC. You will be the Mechanical Engineering representative on behalf of the Data Center Engineering Team responsible for the successful delivery of projects. You will assist in Data Center site selection, planning, development. You will maintain the highest performance standards and utilize innovation to reduce PUE, water consumption, CAPEX and increase efficiency. As an experienced Mechanical Engineer you will evaluate different cooling systems and make a data driven decision about a suitable solution based on our guidelines. You will be an integral part of our work to change the world through technology.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site selection reviews, work with local utilities to understand and define site utility requirements, and work with internal teams to understand user requirements.
• Design and collaborate with other disciplines to create a construction document set.
• Create designs which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements.
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate mechanical equipment including Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling Units, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Sequence of Operations & Controls systems, Fire Detection/Suppression systems
• Review and approve equipment submittals.
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases.
• Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of mechanical systems.
• Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers and Operations. This position will involve 20% travel within APAC region and occasionally globally.

The Data Center Design Engineering team at Amazon Web Services consists of Architects, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Fire Protection and Controls Engineers working to design the next generation of Data Centres. Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
