Job summary

Applied Systems India Pvt Ltd. invites a Senior Manager – Software Engineering to lead two Bengaluru teams delivering the EZLynx platform on a .NET/SQL Server backend with an Angular frontend.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture, and safeguard delivery, quality, and security while partnering with product and architecture leadership to meet quarterly goals.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in people management.
• Experience hiring, coaching, and developing technical teams.
• Hands-on with C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, SQL Server.
• Strong REST API design and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with Agile Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

As a Senior Manager – Software Engineering, you will lead technical teams and provide expertise to develop and deliver industry leading software solutions, tools, and platforms.

You’ll lead two engineering teams in our EZLynx business in Bengaluru — one directly and one through an Engineering Manager — delivering the EZLynx 5 platform on a .NET and SQL Server backend with an Angular front end.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multiple engineering teams - recruiting, coaching, and developing high performing engineers.
• Provide technical oversight of design and architecture across the backend and front end, and set the standard for code quality and test automation through the teams.
• Own solutions to issues and operational challenges affecting teams, escalating trade-offs to technology and product leadership.
• Anticipate blockers, maintain delivery metrics, and protect uptime and quality, ensuring production issues are resolved rapidly.
• Run performance reviews and career development; recognise strong outcomes and address gaps with courage and compassion.
• Partner with Product Management, Architecture, and Engineering Leadership on quarterly planning, sizing, and estimates.
• Define and cascade goals so the teams deliver against company objectives and the product roadmap.
• Improve processes and documentation, and lead the teams through change by communicating benefits and enabling skill development.

We’re Excited to Learn More About You

• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in people management, with experience managing teams or managers/leads
• Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop technical teams
• Hands-on experience with C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core, Angular, TypeScript, and SQL Server, with strong REST API design expertise
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, service boundaries, and modular architecture patterns
• Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, cloud platforms, and software security
• Ability to size and plan accurately, and to address root causes of technical and operational issues
• Agile Scrum experience, with working knowledge of Jira and Confluence
• Degree in Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience

You may have other skills, including

• Experience building cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with front-end modernisation or legacy framework migration, such as AngularJS to modern Angular
• Experience in insurance technology or SaaS products, and scaling teams in globally distributed environments
