Job description

Candidate will be based at corporate office of reputed Pharma company as a Sr. Manager Direct Taxation and he will be responsible for handling following:

Job Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and file Income Tax Returns (ITR) of the company and ensure TDS compliance (deduction, deposit, returns 24Q, 26Q) and handle advance tax calculations and timely payments and reconcile Form 26AS, TDS certificates, and ledger balances.
  2. Coordinate with auditors for Tax Audit under Section 44AB and prepare and maintain Tax Audit Report (Form 3CD) and handle Income Tax scrutiny/assessment proceedings, respond to notices, and liaise with tax consultants.
  3. Optimize tax liability through legal tax planning and analyse impact of amendments in direct tax laws (Finance Act changes) and guide business decisions with tax cost projections.
  4. Maintain personal books of accounts of directors/promoters (using Tally, Excel, or similar tools) and track investments, assets, liabilities, and cash flows and file personal Income Tax Returns and manage HUF accounts, capital gains, rental income, and interest/dividend tracking.
  5. Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and coordinate with statutory auditors and internal auditors, and tax consultants to manage tax records and ensure data is audit-ready.
  6. Prepare tax-related reports for management (monthly, quarterly), maintain tax liability schedules, contingent liabilities, and tax provision working and support in Board presentations or reports related to taxation and personal accounts and assist in GSTR-9/9C reconciliation and keep up with CBDT circulars, case laws, and notifications and train junior accountants on direct tax matters.
Required candidate profile
  • Qualification: Chartered Accountant with minimum 10‑12 years of experience.
  • Experience handling Direct Taxation in Pharma (10‑12 years).
  • Good experience working in Tax Compliance & Return Filing, Tax Audits and Assessments, Tax Planning & Advisory, Bookkeeping & Personal Accounting, Personal Tax Compliance, Internal Controls & Coordination, MIS and Reporting, Other duties.
