Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Product Manager and people leader to shape the strategy for digital business-platform capabilities and drive product management talent. You will own roadmaps, governance, and outcomes across cross-functional teams including engineering, data, and operations.

You will convert business strategy into actionable roadmaps, lead product discovery, and guide prioritization and investments, ensuring measurable value and scalability for enterprise products.

What you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role, you will serve as the senior product manager and people leader lead related digital business-platform capabilities, shaping product strategy, roadmap, operating model, enterprise outcomes, and the development of product-management talent.

• Own the strategy, vision, roadmap, lifecycle, and measurable outcomes for product and related digital business-platform capabilities supporting Process Development.
• Lead, develop, and manage product managers and/or digital-platform professionals, including goal setting, performance management, coaching, career development, staffing, and succession planning.
• Convert business strategy, user needs, portfolio priorities, and technology opportunities into a sequenced product roadmap, capability plan, and investment recommendations.
• Allocate team capacity and assignments across product discovery, delivery, sustainment, and improvement priorities based on value, risk, complexity, and capability needs.
• Lead discovery with users and stakeholders to define high-value problems, test assumptions, evaluate options, and establish clear outcome measures before committing delivery capacity.
• Make complex product trade-offs across customer value, enterprise priorities, technical feasibility, risk, compliance, architecture, data, and total cost of ownership.
• Lead cross-functional product teams across business, engineering, data, architecture, validation, platform administration, change management, and operations.
• Guide backlog strategy and release sequencing across major capabilities, integrations, dependencies, and adoption milestones while keeping teams focused on outcomes.
• Establish product governance, decision rights, stakeholder forums, operating measures, and executive communications that create transparency and accelerate decisions.
• Use product analytics, user research, operational insights, technology trends, and AI-enabled analysis to challenge assumptions and improve product decisions.
• Drive platform scalability, Continuous Improvement, standardization, data quality, integration, security, compliance, reliability, and sustainable operating practices.
• Build product-management capability through mentoring, deliberate delegation, role clarity, communities of practice, and consistent product standards.
• Partner with enterprise platform leadership on strategy, governance, vendor relationships, capability evolution, and alignment across adjacent products and platforms.

Basic Qualifications

· Master's or Bachelor’s degree with 15-18 years of product, program, project, business systems, or platform experience

Must-Have Skills

• Strategic digital product management across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and vision through roadmap, delivery, adoption, sustainment, and value realization.
• Direct people management, including goal setting, performance management, staffing, coaching, development, delegation, and succession planning.
• Leadership of complex enterprise business platforms, including integrations, dependencies, governance, risk, and operating-model decisions.
• Executive-level product decision-making and cross-functional influence across business, engineering, data, architecture, platform operations, compliance, and delivery partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience directly managing and developing product managers, product owners, digital-platform professionals, or comparable teams.
• Substantial experience managing enterprise projects and portfolio management or digital business platform.
• Demonstrated experience defining product strategy, roadmaps, outcome measures, investment priorities, and lifecycle plan for complex enterprise products.
• Deep knowledge of portfolio management, integrated planning, resource forecasting, capacity planning, reporting, data quality, analytics, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience leading product discovery, user research, hypothesis testing, prioritization, product analytics, and value measurement.
• Experience establishing product governance, decision rights, operating models, service measures, and sustainable platform-management practices.
• Advanced Product Management, Product Owner, Agile, or project/program management certification.
• Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, R&D, or another regulated environment.
