Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an Offshore Business Analyst in Pune with 8–10 years of experience in clinical domain projects. You will interact with global stakeholders, translate business needs into epics and user stories, and manage backlogs using Jira/Confluence.

The role requires strong data and SQL skills and familiarity with regulatory compliance in life sciences. You will work across time zones, support Agile ceremonies, and help ensure quality across requirements, testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Owner or Functional Consultant in IT delivery programs.
• Extensive experience on Clinical domain projects such as CTMS, EDC, clinical operations and data platforms.
• Translate business problems into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria and specs.
• Hands-on Agile delivery, Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning and demos.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.
• Exposure to RDBMS, Snowflake and PostgreSQL; strong data/technical curiosity.
• Knowledge of GxP, data integrity, data security and compliance in regulated pharma.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and ability to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Prepare BRDs, functional specs, user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Support sprint planning, backlog grooming and Agile ceremonies.
• Participate in UAT planning, defect management and sign-off.
• Validate reports, dashboards and data outputs; create user guides and release notes.

Job Title: Offshore Business Analyst
Location: Pune, Noida, Bangalore
Experience: 8 to 10 Years
Shift Timing: 12 PM to 9 PM IST
Domain: Clinical and Life Sciences

Key Responsibilities

• Interact with Clinical business stakeholders, product owners and delivery teams to understand business requirements.
• Analyze clinical business processes, workflows and data flows.
• Prepare business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Manage backlog and requirements using Jira and Confluence.
• Conduct requirement gathering sessions, workshops and stakeholder meetings.
• Work closely with development and QA teams during project execution.
• Support sprint planning, backlog grooming and Agile ceremonies.
• Participate in functional testing, UAT planning, defect management and business sign off.
• Validate application functionality, reports, dashboards and data outputs.
• Prepare user guides, release notes and training materials.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of overall experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Owner or Functional Consultant in IT delivery programs.
• Strong prior experience working on Clinical domain projects such as clinical trials, clinical development, CTMS, EDC, clinical operations, clinical data platforms, clinical analytics, clinical testing data, and drug discovery.
• Ability to understand business problems and convert them into well-structured epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile delivery practices, Scrum ceremonies, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and iterative delivery.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence or similar tools for backlog management, documentation, and delivery tracking.
• Experience in RDBMS, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of software testing lifecycle, UAT coordination, defect management, traceability, and functional validation.
• Awareness of GxP, data integrity, data security, validation, and compliance expectations in regulated pharma/life sciences environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently from offshore while collaborating with global stakeholders across time zones.

Preferred Candidate Background

• Candidates from reputed SI competitors or life sciences technology service providers who have delivered Clinical domain transformation programs.
• Experience working with global pharma clients, clinical operations teams, R&D stakeholders, or clinical data/product teams.
• Exposure to clinical platforms, data products, analytics dashboards, NLQ/data validation use cases, or clinical workflow applications.
• Prior experience acting as a bridge between business users and engineering teams in complex enterprise application programs.
• Experience creating process flows, fit‑gap analysis, wireframes, user journeys, test scenarios, and functional walkthrough material.
• Preferably from IIM.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
