Job description
Role & responsibilities

To manage and oversee our end-to-end import operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemicals, proven expertise in import/export regulations, and the ability to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Skills
  • Develop new customer/vendor bases for existing and upcoming chemical products.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Exim Policy, SEZ/FTWZ regulations, and Customs procedures.
  • Manage documentation and processes related to Anti-Dumping / Safeguard Duties, Forex payment procedures, and LC opening, including liaison with banks.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and shipping companies, obtain quotes for EXW/FOB shipments, and prepare comparative freight analysis.
  • Handle complete import clearance procedures via Sea, Air, and Courier, including responding to customs queries and physical follow-ups if required.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with suppliers, customers, factories, and all internal departments.
  • Manage insurance claims in cases of damage or breakage, including surveys and follow-ups with all concerned parties until resolution.
  • Maintain documentation as per ISO 9001 standards and update records in ERP/SAP systems.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Graduate/Post Graduate in Chemistry or related field.
  • Diploma in Import/Export Management / Shipping & Logistics preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in import operations, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, documentation, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems and ISO processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
