Job description

Job Overview

The Paraplanner role will be part of our organization, LPL Paraplanning Solutions. This product is a program which is providing the next level of LPL services to help advisors to better serve their clients. This individual will support the creation of financial plans to be delivered to our advisors. This position is an entry into planning and is focused on quickly learning best practices, planning software, planning processes, and planning strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Input client data into financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuide, RightCapital).
  • Organize and compile client data including statements and fact finders in accordance with the Paraplanning Team’s data structure.
  • Enter and validate data in the financial planning software from client statements and fact finders.
  • Review initial plan submissions for minimum required data to begin plan creation.
  • Attend advisor meetings to gather data and take notes for advanced plan creation.
  • Research ad-hoc financial planning questions as necessary to support the construction of financial plans for advisors and their clients.
  • Gain proficiency in a variety of financial planning tools/software, including WealthVision/eMoney, MoneyGuide, and RightCapital.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic financial planning concepts and an ability to learn increasingly complex personal and business financial planning concepts, staying informed of current financial planning developments and tax law changes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience within a financial services firm, university program, and/or a financial planning environment.
  • Working toward acquisition of CFP® designation or interest in obtaining it.
  • Licenses required: Securities licenses 63/65 or 66, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Understanding of personal financial matters.
  • Software/Systems skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial planning software.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Certifications Needed
  • Education: 12 + 3 degree education is mandatory – B Com, BBA, and BBM graduates preferred; candidates with good work experience but other specializations may be considered.
  • Additional certification on stock market subjects is an advantage.
  • No tech graduates (BE, B Tech, M Tech).
