Job summary

Honeywell Technologies in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned trade compliance professional to navigate international regulations, oversee import/export classification, licensing, and audits, and partner with the Corporate Export Control team.

You will lead MEU due diligence, conduct sanctions screening, develop policies, train stakeholders, and stay current with evolving rules to ensure compliant global movement of goods.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in trade compliance in a multinational setting.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations including customs, export controls and sanctions.
• Understanding of ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations.
• Experience managing trade compliance programs including classification, licensing, and audits.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Ability to navigate complex situations; SAP and/or SharePoint experience.
• Knowledge of SCOMET regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review BIS MEU rule applicability for export orders and coordinate with the Corporate Export Control team.
• Conduct MEU due diligence to meet regulatory requirements.
• Screen customers and transactions to identify sanctions and export compliance risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review potential customers/suppliers for projects, shipments, and intercompany transactions to meet sanctions requirements.
• Escalate alerts that may raise sanctions risks and reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to import/export regulations.
• Manage import/export documentation, including classification, licensing, and customs paperwork.
• Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters.
• Stay updated with changes in trade regulations and communicate impacts to the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve trade compliance issues and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Review Export orders for BIS Military End Use (MEU) rule for any restriction or license applicability and work with the Corporate Export Control team for review and approval.
• Conduct MEU due diligence to meet the regulatory requirements.
• Perform screening and conduct due diligence of customers and transactions to identify and control sanctions and export compliance risks.
• Work with Cross Functional teams and support with reviewing Potential Customers/Suppliers for Projects, Shipments, and Intercompany transaction to meet requirements of sanctions and export compliance.
• Escalate alerts that may raise sanctions risks and potential authorization and reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to import and export regulations
• Manage and oversee import and export documentation, including classification, licensing, and customs documentation
• Conduct internal audits and assessments to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on trade compliance matters, including training and awareness programs
• Stay updated with changes in trade regulations and communicate the impact to the organization, ensuring compliance with new requirements
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve trade compliance issues and mitigate risks

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a multinational company
• Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, including customs laws, export controls, and sanctions
• Understanding of export regulations, including the ITAR, EAR and OFAC
• Experience in managing trade compliance programs, including classification, licensing, and compliance audits
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical solutions
• Ability to navigate complex situations
• SAP and/or SharePoint experience

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or related field
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate and timely compliance
• Ability to work independently and in a team, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and effectively communicate trade compliance requirements
• Ability to adapt to changing regulations and requirements, staying updated with industry trends and best practices
• Knowledge of SCOMET regulations
