Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer / Senior QA Engineer / SDET to join our teams across India. You will design, develop, and execute automated tests for microservices and payment systems, focusing on API automation and validation.

The role requires hands-on experience with Java or Python, REST Assured preferred, and strong Postman skills, within an Agile/Scrum environment. Prior experience with microservices and data streaming is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in QA automation.
• Strong background in API testing and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency with Java or Python (Rest Assured preferred).
• Experience with Postman for API verification and collection building.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust API automation frameworks or maintain existing ones.
• Collaborate with developers to map test cases for microservices architecture.
• Validate data streaming pipelines and event triggers using Kafka.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in API testing and automation frameworks. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts to ensure the reliability and performance of our microservices and payment systems.

Technical Skill

Primary Skills (Must-Have)

• API Automation: Proven experience using Java or Python (Rest Assured highly preferred; other standard frameworks acceptable).
• API Manual Testing: Proficiency with Postman for manual verification and collection building.
• Process: Strong understanding and working experience in an Agile/Scrum methodology environment.

Secondary Skills (Good-to-Have / Advantages)

• UI Automation: Hands-on experience with Web Automation (Selenium preferred).
• Architecture Testing: Solid understanding of Microservices testing principles.
• Data Streams: Experience testing event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
• Domain Knowledge: Prior exposure to the Payments or Cards domain.
