Job summary

LPL Financial Global Capability Center in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Engineer - Varicent Developer to translate compensation requirements into Varicent calculations and reports. You will own platform governance, ensure sustainability, and partner with product teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong Varicent experience, programming skills (Python/Java/.NET), and a data-driven mindset to drive client-focused outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of development/implementation experience with modern technologies.
• 5+ years’ experience implementing Varicent ICM modules (Composer, Portal Access, Task Manager, QueryTool, Presenter).
• 2+ years building import processes, workflow processes, calculations, reports and web forms.
• 2+ years creating controls and documentation including technical specs and architectural docs.
• Ability to quickly dissect and fix issues in Varicent calculations and configurations.
• Code proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, .Net, Perl, Java).
• Experience with design tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
• Experience with DevOps, version control, release management and CI/CD (GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins).
• Knowledge in designing, refactoring, and unit testing.

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Engineer - Varicent Developer with working knowledge of Varicent development to join the Client Compensation Group.

As the Senior Varicent Developer, you’ll be a Varicent subject matter expert who will be directly accountable for translating sales compensation management requirements into Varicent calculations and report deliverables. As part of the team that serves as the technical owners of the platform, you will be expected to put in policies and governance to maintain application sustainability and availability. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist with a practical data engineering mindset, is outcome-focused, and fosters teamwork.

Essential Functions

• Develop/Enhance compensation solutions using Varicent for various incentive plans.
• Strong hands‑on Experience in Varicent Version 10.
• Create and implement elegantly coded and effectively tuned solutions that enable high performance and ease of maintenance.
• Optimize queries and reports utilized within the platform.
• Build, maintain, and extend data models within the Varicent Incentive Compensation Management platform.
• Create and troubleshoot Presenter and Presenter Adaptive reports.
• Good hands‑on experience on Workflow and Webforms.

• Code proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (Python, .Net, Perl, Java, etc.)
• Working knowledge of design tools such as Visio, Lucid chart
• Experience with DevOps processes including version control, Release Management and CI/CD (e.g. GitHub, TeamCity, Octopus, Jenkins)
• Knowledge in designing, refactoring, and unit testing

• Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda ) is highly preferred and will be considered a strong advantage
• Hands‑on exposure to deploying, integrating, or supporting applications in AWS environments will differentiate candidates
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Developer Associate) are a plus
• Banking, financial services or other highly regulated industry experience
