Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an AI/ML Developer to partner with the IT team to build, deploy, and optimize AI and ML solutions using traditional ML techniques and Generative AI models. You will report to the AI & Data Science Manager and contribute to enterprise AI initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing web apps on Azure, training ML models for predictive analytics, and selecting suitable LLMs for business use cases. Strong Python, Streamlit, and Azure AI skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Applications/CS/AI/DS or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of AI/ML development experience with NLP and Generative AI.
• Strong Python skills and Streamlit web app development.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI Studio and Azure AI services for model deployment.

Make an Impact By:

• Developing and deploying web applications and scalable serverless functions on Azure Cloud.
• Designing and implementing AI/ML solutions using Azure OpenAI Studio and Azure AI Services, including Chat Playground.
• Developing, training, evaluating, and optimizing Machine Learning models for predictive analytics, forecasting, classification, regression, and NLP use cases.
• Selecting appropriate Large Language Models (LLMs) based on business requirements and use cases.
• Engineering effective prompts and optimizing prompt engineering to improve AI solution accuracy and performance.
• Building AI-powered applications by integrating Machine Learning, NLP, and Generative AI capabilities.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and integrate AI-driven solutions into enterprise applications.
• Travel Requirements: Need basis.

Skills You Bring:

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in AI/ML development with strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI.
• Required Technical Skills:
• Strong expertise in Python and developing Streamlit web applications.
• Hands-on experience in developing, training, evaluating, and deploying Machine Learning models for predictive analytics, forecasting, classification, and regression.
• Good understanding of feature engineering, model evaluation, and model performance optimization.
• Strong experience with Azure OpenAI Studio, Azure AI Services, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure AI Search.
• Experience selecting and integrating appropriate Large Language Models (LLMs) based on business requirements.
• Strong expertise in Prompt Engineering and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Proven experience developing and deploying web applications and scalable Azure Functions on Azure Cloud.
• Experience with Visual Studio Code, Python, and Azure DevOps for application development and CI/CD.
• Experience with ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

• Experience building and maintaining cloud-native AI/ML solutions.
• Familiarity with deploying AI/ML models using containers and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS-Optional).
• Experience with MLOps, model monitoring, and CI/CD for ML deployments.
• Knowledge of Hugging Face models and ecosystem.
