Job summary

Vantive seeks a Mechanical Engineer with 5–8 years of Verification and Validation experience in plastic/fluid devices to lead mechanical development for vital organ therapy systems. You will design tests, perform analyses, and drive integration with electrical and consumable components.

You will guide project teams, transition designs to manufacturing, and ensure regulatory compliance while optimizing reliability and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 5 to 8 yrs of experience in Verification and validation testing of Plastic/Fluid devices, hardware and system.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the evaluation testing and development of mechanical and Fluid control systems by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Performs standard engineering assignments which are typically a significant portion of a larger project. Select sound techniques to solve design problems and make design recommendations under direction of supervisor.
  • Ensures successful integration of mechanical design entities with electrical and consumable components. Contributes to troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to mechanical aspects of the design and interfaces with other design constituents.
  • Review direct reports quality of work where applicable
  • Utilize engineering tools to solve straightforward problems (example FMEA, finite element analysis, Design of experiments)
  • Contributes to development and documentation of medical products addressing regulatory and manufacturing needs.
  • Lead project teams and laboratory activities as needed to accomplish project objectives
  • Able to design Plastic components with expertise in manufacturing of plastic components
  • Able to effectively transition products to manufacturing and ensure robust products and manufacturing processes
  • Improv es mechanical designs that are optimized for production, reliability, regulatory compliance and cost.
  • Performs in-depth mechanical engineering analysis/Reliability testing and calculations.
  • Responsible for integration of deliverables from sub-system design teams and external partners.
  • Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions required to deliver the product to market.
  • Defines protocols and conduct the necessary testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
  • With supervisor formulate and recommend engineering policies and technical work in accordance with project business objectives
  • with supervisors, create update development plans for team members in line with R&D objectives
  • Able to implement Statistical techniques related to product V&V, manage Nonconformities, Corrective and Preventive Actions.
