Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Engineer – MEP to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across industrial and cleanroom construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience in CS/MS/SS piping works, clean process gas and ultra‑pure water piping, ducting, firefighting, and underground utility systems, along with a deep understanding of QA/QC procedures, welding standards, and international codes (ASME, IS, ASTM). This role demands a strong foundation in P&ID and PFD interpretation, cleanroom construction quality checks, and MEP systems validation, particularly within Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, or High-Tech Manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) systems for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works.
- Conduct inspection and quality verification for carbon steel (CS), mild steel (MS), and stainless steel (SS) piping systems including welding, fit‑up, and joint integrity.
- Supervise and validate quality of clean process gas and ultra‑pure water (UPW) piping systems, ensuring compliance with cleanliness and fabrication standards.
- Perform orbital welding quality checks, review weld logs, and ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation.
- Review and monitor installation of ducting, firefighting networks, DICL underground piping, UPVC, and HDPE piping systems for conformance with project specifications and standards.
- Conduct visual inspection, NDT (as applicable), and hydro‑pneumatic testing of mechanical and piping systems.
- Oversee installation and testing of utility equipment such as chillers, compressors, CDA systems, DI water systems, and exhaust units.
- Interpret and verify construction and design compliance with P&ID and PFD diagrams.
- Ensure all works comply with ASME Section IX, IS codes, and project‑specific welding and material standards.
- Conduct quality checks during cleanroom construction, ensuring compliance with contamination control and design requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Checklists, Material Test Certificates (MTCs), and QA documentation.
- Coordinate with design, construction, and third‑party inspection teams for audits, NCR resolution, and continual quality improvement.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or MEP Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 8–10 years of experience in QA/QC for MEP, piping, or cleanroom infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in CS/MS/SS piping fabrication, orbital welding, and pressure testing procedures.
- Experience in cleanroom and utility piping systems — including clean process gas, UPW, CDA, DI water, and exhaust networks.
- Strong understanding of ducting, firefighting, and underground utility piping (DICL, UPVC, HDPE).
- Knowledge of P&ID, PFD, and construction drawings for MEP systems.
- Familiarity with ASME, IS, ASTM, and international welding standards and their field implementation.
- Experience with HVAC and cleanroom quality inspection will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Experience working with third‑party QA/QC and certification agencies preferred.
- Person should have proficiency in using Gen AI Tools, Copilot, Copilot library & Agent bots
Key Competencies
- Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality excellence.
- In‑depth technical knowledge of MEP construction and clean utility systems.
- Ability to interpret complex drawings and codes accurately.
- Effective cross‑functional communication and team coordination.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD (preferred), and QA/QC reporting tools.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities under time constraints.
