Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Senior Consultant for App Modernization based in India. You will transform legacy apps into scalable, cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure, driving refactoring, containerization, and automation across development, operations, and security teams.

You will build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, manage IaC with Terraform/ARM/Bicep, and operate AKS and App Services to ensure reliability, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud, or related technical discipline.
• Working understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud concepts for enterprise modernization.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Knowledge of IaC technologies: Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Familiarity with AKS, Docker, and containerization for deployment and orchestration.
• Understanding of Azure App Services for hosting apps and APIs.
• Knowledge of SonarQube and integration into pipelines.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Consultant – App Modernization based in India.

As a Senior Application Modernization Consultant, you will play a key role in transforming legacy enterprise applications into scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions. You will leverage Microsoft Azure technologies and modern DevOps practices to improve application performance, reliability, and deployment efficiency. Working across development, operations, and security teams, you will contribute to application migration, refactoring, containerization, and cloud infrastructure automation. You will help build and optimize CI/CD pipelines while supporting containerized workloads through Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and other Azure-native services. Accountabilities:

• Application Modernization: Support the migration and modernization of legacy applications to Microsoft Azure, collaborating with engineering teams to refactor, rearchitect, and containerize applications for improved scalability and maintainability.
• CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build, maintain, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Azure DevOps, including Pipelines, Repos, and Artifacts, to streamline application build, testing, and deployment processes.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Bicep, promoting consistent, repeatable, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Azure Kubernetes Service and Containerization: Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using AKS and Docker, applying best practices for orchestration, availability, security, and resource optimization.
• Azure App Services Management: Support application and API deployments on Azure App Services, ensuring reliable operation, scalability, security, and performance.
• Code Quality and Security: Integrate SonarQube into CI/CD workflows to monitor code quality, identify potential issues, and maintain compliance with established development standards.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to reduce manual effort, improve operational efficiency, and standardize repetitive tasks.
• Monitoring and Logging: Support the implementation of monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting practices to improve application visibility, identify performance bottlenecks, and maintain operational health.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure applications are modernized and deployed reliably, securely, and efficiently.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain documentation covering deployment procedures, infrastructure configurations, CI/CD workflows, and engineering best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging Azure services, DevOps technologies, containerization practices, and application modernization approaches, contributing to ongoing technical improvements.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud computing, application development, or a closely related technical discipline.
• A working understanding of Microsoft Azure services and cloud computing concepts, with the ability to support enterprise application modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools, including Pipelines, Repos, and Artifacts, and experience supporting CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, and containerization principles, including application deployment and orchestration.
• Understanding of Azure App Services and their use in hosting scalable applications and APIs.
• Knowledge of code quality tools such as SonarQube and their integration into automated development and deployment workflows.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, to support automation and operational tasks.
• Familiarity with application monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and cloud infrastructure performance management is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and contribute to effective solutions.
