Job summary

Whirlpool India is seeking a skilled structural simulation engineer to advance product robustness. You will convert real-world problems into LS-Dyna models and perform both explicit/implicit analyses, interpreting results to drive improvements.

The role requires 2–6 years of FEM/FEA experience with LS-Dyna/LS-Prepost, strong FEM theory knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• M.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Aerospace Engineering required.
• 2–6 years hands-on FEM/FEA experience with LS-Dyna and LS-Prepost.
• Strong knowledge of FEM theory and numerical methods.
• Ability to interpret results and suggest design changes based on FEA.

Responsibilities

• Convert physical problems into LS-Dyna simulation problems with proper BCs.
• Run structural simulations, analyze results and prepare reports with conclusions.
• Provide design suggestions based on FEA outcomes.
• Manage projects independently and coordinate with stakeholders.

The team you will be a part of

The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.

This Role In Summary

Responsible for supporting in improvement of structural robustness of Products/Projects through explicit & implicit LS-Dyna Simulations.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include

• Can convert physical / field problem into Simulation problem (BC definition) independently. Pro-active knowledge documentation and sharing
• Perform the Structural simulations, analyze the results, prepare proper report with appropriate conclusions and suggestions to improve the product performance
• Good in Result interpretation, may need help in design solutions
• Independently handle projects and deliver solutions to stakeholders
• Coordinate with different functions and stakeholders for project discussions

Technical Expertise

• Proficient in LS Dyna , explicit and implicit analysis
• Proficient in component/subsystem/system level simulations using LS-Dyna
• Proficient in component/subsystem/system level result analysis using LS-Prepost
• Expert in 2D and 3D meshing of sheet metals and plastics using Altair-Hypermesh.

Education

Minimum requirements

M.tech from Mechanical/Automobile/Aerospace Engineering.

Experience: 2-6 Years

Key Deliverables

• FEM and analysis using LS Dyna and LS Prepost. Candidates should have hands- on experience with explicit and implicit analysis projects
• Experience on material model selection
• Should have very good knowledge in FEM theory and numerical methods
• Should have experience in providing logical and feasible design suggestion based on FEA analysis
• Experience in selection of element type, mesh size, material properties, element quality check and selection of right material models and parameters
• Experience in interpreting and understanding FEA results, post- processing and preparing comprehensive analysis reports with design solutions

Preferred Skills And Experiences

TECHNICAL

• Knowledge of Strength of Materials and Impact dynamics
• Knowledge of numerical techniques like Finite Element Method (FEM) and Finite Difference Method (BEM).
• Basic understanding of material and product testing
• Proficiency in Simulation tools like Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, Ansys etc.
• Results interpretation skills.
• Patents/ Research / External presentations :

Rigor to publish/present papers in Technical Forums

Technical rigor for patent filing and desirable to have patents

Knowledge Management

Open in sharing knowledge and thoughts

Proactive knowledge documentation and sharing within and outside stakeholders
