Job summary

Ameriprise India LLP is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to drive reporting, analytics, and decision support for advisor practices. You will manage reports, dashboards, and data distribution from CRM, pipeline, and activity sources, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The role requires strong SQL, Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce CRM skills, with experience in KPI dashboards and data modelling.

Job Description

Provide reporting and analytics support for advisor practices by managing regular reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data distribution. Collect, clean, reconcile, and validate data from approved sources such as CRM, pipeline, activity, and prospect tracking systems. Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports, identify data quality issues and trends, and ensure reporting accuracy. Customize reports for advisors, teams, and leadership, create professional communications, maintain reporting templates and documentation, support automation and process improvements, and collaborate with leadership to enhance KPIs and reporting processes as business needs evolve.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Business Analyst to support business reporting, operational effectiveness, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze data, maintain reporting processes, and deliver actionable insights that drive business outcomes.

This role requires strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business needs into actionable insights and business solutions.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Maintain reporting documentation, SOPs, business rules, and data-source references.
  • Ensure reporting outputs remain aligned with leadership directives and stakeholders
  • Validate data accuracy, reconcile discrepancies, and proactively resolve reporting issues.
  • Support recurring reporting cycles while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and updates to business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, and operational performance.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/BTech), Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in Business Analysis, Reporting, Analytics
  • Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering and process mapping.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Good understanding of data modelling concepts to support reporting, analytics, and business data interpretation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data cleaning, lookups, conditional formatting, and pivot tables.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, including executive presentations, charts, and data storytelling.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM (end-user perspective) with experience in navigating dashboards, generating reports, managing records, and supporting business processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to validate data, reconcile reports, and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with KPI reporting and business performance dashboards.
  • Exposure to process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Ability to provide data-driven recommendations to business leaders.
  • Working knowledge of AWS Athena for querying and analyzing data from cloud-based data sources.

  • Automate and streamline manual reporting processes and improve existing reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate with business teams to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Maintain historical data and support data integration with tools like SharePoint and data lakes.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of experience in reporting, data analysis, or BI development
  • Strong hands-on experience with: Power BI (Dashboard development, DAX, Power Query) Power Apps / Power Platform tools
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex datasets
  • Good understanding of data modeling, data validation, and reporting best practices
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Power BI (PL-300) or Power Platform
  • Experience working with data lakes / large datasets / cloud data sources
  • Knowledge of Power Automate and workflow automation
  • Familiarity with SharePoint integration and data governance practices
  • Exposure to building enterprise-level reporting or operational dashboards
  • Experience in financial services / insurance domain (nice to have given your setup)

  • Self-driven learning mindset (important given evolving Power Platform use in your team)
