Job summary

Amgen, a global leader in the Life Sciences industry, is seeking an experienced SAP WM/SRM/EWM Architect to design, implement, and support warehouse solutions across its manufacturing and distribution network.

The role blends strategic design with hands-on execution, working within a GxP‑regulated environment to ensure regulatory compliance and operational excellence while coordinating with global teams. Strong knowledge of S/4HANA EWM, WM, and integration with MES/ASRS is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SAP WM/SRM and EWM with solution design and configuration.
• Deep experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM, embedded or decentralized deployments.
• Strong command of inbound/outbound processing, putaway, picking, replenishment, and stock reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and optimize SAP EWM/WM solutions across Amgen’s global network.
• Work with a global SAP WM/SRM/EWM expert team across sites/time zones.
• Maintain end-to-end documentation per quality and compliance standards (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
• Identify data discrepancies between ERP and EWM and implement corrective actions.
• Support interfaces between EWM and external systems such as ASRS, conveyors, MES.
• Translate business requirements into system configurations and specs.

Role Description:

Amgen, a global leader in the Life Sciences industry, is seeking experienced and hands‑on SAP Warehouse Management (WM)/SRM (Stock Room Management) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Architect to design, implement, and support innovative, compliant, and scalable warehouse solutions across our worldwide manufacturing and distribution network.

This position combines strategic design responsibilities with deep technical execution. The architect will be part of a high‑performing team of SAP Warehouse management experts, collaborating closely with peers to ensure global operational stability, share knowledge effectively, and take ownership of critical tasks as business priorities evolve.

You will play a pivotal role in balancing operational excellence with regulatory compliance—bringing modern warehousing capabilities to life within the rigor of a GxP‑regulated environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and optimize SAP EWM/WM solutions across Amgen’s global manufacturing, packaging, and distribution network.

• Work as part of a global SAP WM/SRM/EWM expert team, providing coverage, technical leadership, and proactive support across multiple sites and time zones.

• Maintain end‑to‑end documentation, including functional specs, technical designs, validation documentation, and test evidence, per Amgen’s quality and compliance standards (GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).

• Identify and resolve data discrepancies between ERP and EWM (e.g., mismatched deliveries, open tasks, HU inconsistencies, or stock variances) through proactive monitoring and corrective strategies.

• Support existing interfaces between EWM and external warehouse and automation systems such as ASRS, conveyor systems, MES etc. ensuring synchronized operations and real‑time communication.

• Translate complex business requirements into system configuration or functional specifications, ensuring alignment with best practices and business needs.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Doctorate degree or master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 5 years of SAP implementation experience in SAP WM and EWM.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 5-7 years of SAP implementation experience in SAP WM and EWM

• Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 8-10 plus years of IT or years of SAP implementation experience in SAP WM and EWM

Functional Skills:

Must‑Have Skills:

• Hands‑on SAP WM/SRM (Stock Room Management) and EWM experience, with proven expertise in solution design and configuration.

• Deep experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM, including both embedded and decentralized deployments.

• Strong command of EWM core processes, including:

• Inbound/Outbound Processing

• Put away, Picking, and Replenishment Strategies

• Wave and Warehouse Order Creation Rules

• Physical Inventory and Stock Reconciliation

• Packaging Specifications, RF Framework, and Work Centers

• Solid understanding of Logistics Execution (LE) – Shipping, and its integration with EWM and TM for end‑to‑end delivery management.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills—able to coordinate across global teams and take initiative when priorities shift.

Good‑to‑Have Skills:

• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems.

• Background in Life Sciences, Biotech, or pharmaceutical environments preferred.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies for software delivery and process improvement.

Professional Certifications:

• SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP EWM or SAP S/4HANA (preferred)

• Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred)
