Job Summary

• The Wealth, Retail Banking (WRB) is accelerating transformation of agile banking services with DevOps and Agile practices, with an aim towards efficiency, automation, and improved transparency. Delivery Sprint Teams will be at the core of delivering this agenda.
• Delivery Sprint Teams will build and integrate components of the DevOps pipeline to deliver new banking capabilities, as well as refactor existing applications. Sprint teams will all be experienced programmers, operations people and product owners who can develop and drive their capability development end‑to‑end. Breadth across both programming and system operations is required of all candidates and depth must be demonstrated in their specialization; this is a cross‑functional team with cross‑over between development, operations and business.

Key Responsibilities

• Awareness and understanding of the Group’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
• As a Web Engineer focus on product development, working with your squad to finalize end‑to‑end solutions and deliver products to the Bank’s digital channels.
• Contribute to the evolving technical direction of the team as we adapt to this rapidly changing space.
• Responsible for developing a new generation of Digital Banking to promote a better user experience to clients; working in an agile team providing mobile banking solutions.
• Maintain good sense of IT development process, manage delivery quality, collaborate with peers and cross‑department colleagues.
• Embed exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct; ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles and serve as a Director of the Board where required.
• Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; handle multiple dual roles.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Sciences or Software Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably within an international technology organization.
• Full software development lifecycle experience.
• DevOps toolchain experience (Microsoft ADO, GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Vx).
• Build automation tools (webpack, vite).
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong experience with mobile hybrid architecture, WebView and JS bridge.
• Good knowledge of web security (Pen Test).

Skills and Experience

• Establish and enforce frontend design principles, coding standards, and architectural patterns.
• Architect performance‑first React applications, lead migration to modern optimizations (React Server Components, Streaming SSR).
• Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting from different infra layers, mentoring teams.
• Lead teams, groom on technical/domain expertise, drive cross‑team architecture decisions.
• Strong understanding of security domain, enforce security checklists.
• Experience with frameworks such as Hybrid, Native, Ember, Flutter, Cordova, and backend development (Java, Spring, NodeJS).
