Job summary

Medtronic in Hyderabad seeks a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst to bridge HR stakeholders and data teams, delivering trusted HR data products through analytics, governance, and reporting. You will define requirements, design scalable datasets, and ensure data quality across pipelines.

Working with HR, Data Engineering, and BI teams, you will help drive the digital and AI transformation in HR, leveraging Power BI and Workday insights to support informed decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, HR Analytics, or related discipline.
  • 8–12 years total experience with 4+ years in data analytics, reporting, BI, or data product management.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with enterprise data warehouses.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable reporting/analytics solutions.
  • Experience with HR systems/data including Workday or similar HCM platforms.

  • Define reporting, workforce metrics, and analytics requirements with HR stakeholders.
  • Translate business questions into functional/technical specs.
  • Advise on metric definitions, data availability, and data usage.
  • Gather and prioritize requirements for HR data and reporting initiatives.
  • Design scalable reporting datasets with Data Engineering/Architecture.
  • Ensure alignment with data models and reporting structures.
  • Support enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Perform data validation and ensure data quality across pipelines.
  • Support UAT and data governance initiatives within HR analytics.
  • Act as SME on HR data, metrics, and reporting assets.

A Day in the Life

The HR Analytics team enables data-driven decision-making across the Human Resources function through trusted data products, workforce analytics, reporting, and governance. As a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst, you will serve as the critical link between HR stakeholders and technical data teams, translating business needs into scalable data, reporting, and analytics solutions that support Medtronic's digital and AI transformation. Partnering with Human Resources Centers of Excellence, Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and Business Intelligence teams, you will help deliver trusted workforce data products that enable informed decision-making across Human Resources and the broader business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining business consulting, data analysis, data governance, and stakeholder engagement to drive impactful analytics outcomes.

Business Consulting & Requirements Management

Partner with HR stakeholders to define reporting, workforce metrics, and analytics requirements.

Translate business questions into clear functional and technical specifications.

Advise stakeholders on metric definitions, data availability, and appropriate data usage.

Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for HR data and reporting initiatives.

Solutions & Warehouse Enablement

Define requirements for HR data integration from source systems into enterprise data warehouse environments.

Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Architecture teams to design scalable reporting datasets and analytics solutions.

Ensure business requirements align with technical data models and reporting structures.

Support the development of enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities.

Data Quality & Validation

Perform end-to-end testing and validation of HR data pipelines and reporting solutions.

Investigate and resolve data quality issues across source systems, warehouse environments, and reporting layers.

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and ensure solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

Monitor data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across analytics products.

Data Expertise & Governance

Serve as a subject matter expert on HR data, metrics, and reporting assets.

Maintain documentation for data definitions, business rules, lineage, and refresh schedules.

Promote data governance, data quality standards, and consistent metric usage across reporting products.

Support data stewardship and governance initiatives within the HR data ecosystem.

Required Knowledge and Experience
  • Must have full time Bachelor's degree from a recognized University in Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Business, Human Resources Analytics, or related discipline.
  • Must have overall 8-12 years of work experience with minimum 4+ years of experience in data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or data product management roles.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience working with enterprise data warehouse environments.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Experience with HR systems and data, including Workday or similar Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms.
  • Experience performing data validation, testing, and data quality analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI or comparable business intelligence and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and reporting architectures.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience partnering with HR, Technology, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams in a global environment.
  • Experience supporting workforce analytics, data product management, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
