Job summary

NiCE is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Python/Scala) in Pune. You will design, develop and implement complex data solutions across frontend and backend systems, working in a hybrid model with 2 days in office and 3 days remote.

You'll contribute to AI-enabled services, data infrastructure, and secure, scalable software deployments. Required 7+ years in software development, strong Python/Scala skills, and hands-on experience with AWS, Kafka, Kubernetes, Snowflake, Spark/Iceberg/Airflow.

A Software Engineer inPython, Scalaholds a prominent position in software development teams, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex data solutions that leverage both frontend and backend technologies. Here's an overview of the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:

How will you make an impact?

• Participate in our product development from ideation to deployment and beyond.
• Maintain quality, ensure responsiveness, and help optimize new and existing systems.
• Develop AI-enabled services and workflows, including self-serve tooling for creating, evaluating, and improving AI assistants
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to design and build new features on time and to budget.
• Maintain code integrity and organization.
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection.
• Understanding of the Business Change cycle from inception to implementation, including the organization of Change initiative
• Ability to coordinate build and release activities with key stakeholders.

Have you got what it takes?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
• 7+ year (Senior Software Engineer) experience in software development
• You have proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) in the full software development lifecycle, including designing, generating code, testing, monitoring and releasing software
• Prior technical experience in Big Data infrastructure, Cost Efficiency & Governance, you've built meaningful pieces of data infrastructure. Bonus if those were open-sourced technologies like Spark, Iceberg and Airflow
• Experience in Scala or Python
• Experience with AWS Technology including (EKS, EMR, S3, Kinesis, Lambda’s, Firehose, IAM, CloudWatch, etc)
• Experience in Kafka, Kubernetes operators
• Experience in Databases like Snowflake
• Experience in CI/CD, git, github Actions Jenkins based pipeline deployments.
• Strong experience in SQL
