Job summary

Novonesis in Bangalore is seeking an SAP Basis Specialist to ensure the reliability of SAP platforms supporting our products. You will join a five-person SAP Basis team responsible for two legacy SAP systems and the SAP S/4HANA project.

This role emphasizes operational reliability, automation, monitoring and lifecycle management, while contributing to the SAP S/4HANA rollout and shaping the future operations model for SAP within Novonesis.

Join Novonesis as an SAP Basis Specialist and help ensure the reliability of the SAP platforms that support our ability to produce and distribute our products. You will become part of an experienced five-person SAP Basis team responsible for two legacy SAP platforms as well as the SAP infrastructure and Basis workstream for our SAP S/4HANA project.

The role & your impact

In this role, your primary focus will be operational reliability across our SAP landscape. Alongside day-to-day execution, you will help optimize how we operate through automation, improved monitoring, standardization and lifecycle management. You will also contribute to our SAP S/4HANA project and help establish the future operations and maintenance model.

Your key responsibilities in this role

Ensure SAP system availability, stability and performance by administering SAP RISE Private Cloud environments, monitoring system health, managing capacity and resolving incidents and technical problems.

Manage the technical lifecycle of SAP systems, including configuration, kernel updates, support packages, SAP Notes, upgrades, system copies, refreshes, migrations and technical conversions across environments.

Coordinate SAP RISE services and operational dependencies, acting as a technical interface between Novonesis, SAP, internal IT teams, application owners and external partners.

Maintain SAP security, compliance and controlled change management through secure technical configurations, user and certificate administration, vulnerability remediation, documented changes and reliable transport and release processes.

Drive automation and continuous improvement by enhancing monitoring, alerting, housekeeping, operational reporting, standardization and repeatable cloud-based SAP operating processes.

What you'll need to be successful in this role

• Solid hands-on experience with SAP Basis and SAP HANA.
• Understanding of SAP RISE with SAP Private Cloud Edition, including the division of responsibilities between SAP and the customer.
• Experience managing incidents, service requests, maintenance activities and operational dependencies in collaboration with SAP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify root causes and resolve complex SAP Basis, HANA, performance, connectivity and cloud-related issues.
• A structured approach to operational reliability, with the ability to prioritize, take ownership and collaborate effectively with internal teams, business stakeholders and external partners.
