Job summary
Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) in Pune seeks a Specialist Reliability & Safety CoE to lead governance for reliability, safety, and warranty deliverables across ES Americas, EMEA, GEIS and APAC. The role drives enterprise-wide reliability strategies and implements DFR/DFS practices across Eaton electrical business.
The candidate will collaborate with product engineering groups at EIIC and global sites to identify risks, deploy analytics, and sustain reliability engineering capabilities
Qualifications
- Proficiency in DfR processes including life data analysis and ALT.
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-217F, NPRD, Telcordia standards.
- Experience reducing field/warranty data into life and failure rate information.
- Preferred: electronics and electrical systems for data centers.
- DFSS GB certification and ASQ CRE preferred.
- Experience with reliability analysis software tools.
Responsibilities
- Establish and execute reliability and safety roadmap across electrical business groups.
- Establish governance framework to ensure zero reliability escape in NPI/NTI.
- Provide technical leadership to develop and deploy advanced reliability methods.
- Govern DFMEA and FRACAS deployment; integrate lab, manufacturing, warranty, and field data.
- Scale warranty analytics and FRACAS across Electrical Quality and plants.
- Guide for reliability modelling, prediction, ALT, RGA, and life-data analysis.
- Expand DFR portfolio to software reliability, PHM & electronics cooling.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Engineering Office to advance technology adoption.
- Work with cross functional teams to scale DFR, DFS and analytics capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvements through code enhancements, automations and AI/ML.

Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) is looking for Specialist Reliability & Safety CoE. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune. The role has to provide technical expertise to institutionalize advanced reliability methods, accelerate product-risk closure, and scale Reliability Engineering capability across electrical business.
Key responsibilities include
- Establish & execute Reliability & Safety roadmap across electrical business groups ( ESA, EMEA, GEIS & Data center applcation).
- Work as technical expert to establish goverence framwork to ensure zero reliability escape across NPI & NTI portfolio.
- Provide technical leadership to develop, standardize, and deploy advanced reliability-engineering methods.
- Govern DFMEA and FRACAS deployment; integrate lab, manufacturing, warranty, and field data into corrective and preventive actions.
- Scale warranty analytics and FRACAS across Electrical Quality and plants to improve products and reduce warranty costs.
- Guide & mentor for reliability modelling, prediction, allocation, ALT, RDT, RGA, and life-data analysis for electrical portfolio.
- Expand DFR portfolio to newer areas like software relibility, PHM & electronics cooling
- Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Engineering Office of the Chief Engineer to advance technology adoption across the Electrical ESA EMEA and GEIS business.
- Work across cross functional teams viz. Eaton engineering, plant & central qaulity functions to scale & percolate DFR, DFS & advance analytics capabilities
- Drive culture of Continuous improvements through code enhancements, automations and use of AI/ML"
Masters in Electrical/ Electronics / Reliability Engineering or PhD with relevant industry experience.
10+ years of relevant industry experience in Reliability Enngineering/ Functional Safety/ FRACAS / Problem solving.
- Proficiency in DfR process like system reliability modeling, goal setting, allocation, prediction, demonstration (life data analysis, reliability growth analysis & ALT)
- Proficiency in reliability standards such as MIL-HDBK-217F, NPRD, Telcordia
- Knowledge in FRACAS and reducing field/warranty data into relevant life and failure rate information.
- Desired: Relevant work experience in the field of Electronics and Electrical systems for data centers.
- Preferred: DFSS GB certified from reputed organization and ASQ – CRE.
- Experience with any industry proven reliability analysis suite of tools. Sherlock, Reliasoft, Blocksim & Minitab preferred."
