Job summary

Tech Mahindra in Hyderabad, India is seeking a Specialist in Fraud & Abuse to detect phantom businesses, fake review campaigns, and coordinated misinformation. You will hunt for abuse using data forensics and user behavioural analysis, and partner with Engineering and Product to automate detection signals.

The role involves proactive abuse hunting, analyzing techniques used by bad actors, managing high-priority incidents, and preparing client-facing summaries of countermeasures.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Fraud Operations, or Cyber-Security.
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Abuse Hunting: identify and mitigate fraudulent patterns in business profiles, review campaigns, and location spoofing.
• TTP Analysis: deconstruct techniques used by bad actors to bypass defenses.
• Cross-Functional Shielding: work with Engineering and Product to automate detection signals.
• Incident Response: manage high-priority escalations involving real-world harm.
• Strategic Reporting: create client/product-facing one-pagers detailing abuse lifecycle and countermeasures.

About the Role:

As a Specialist in Fraud & Abuse, you will be at the front lines of detecting "phantom" businesses, fake review campaigns, and coordinated misinformation campaigns. You will not just react to abuse; you will hunt for it using data forensics and user behavioural analysis.

Role & responsibilities :

• Abuse Hunting: Proactively identify and mitigate fraudulent patterns such as fake Business Profiles (FBPs), review-bombing, incentive programs to impact businesses, misleading & fraud prone media & posts and location spoofing.


• TTP Analysis: Deconstruct the Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) used by bad actors to circumvent automated defences.


• Cross-Functional Shielding: Partner with Engineering and Product teams to translate identified manual "workarounds" into automated detection signals.


• Incident Response: Manage high-priority escalations involving real-world harm, such as fraudulent emergency services or scam-based pins.


• Strategic Reporting: Create "One-Pagers" for client / product team facing detailing the lifecycle of an identified abuse vector and the effectiveness of our countermeasures

Preferred candidate profile :

• Minimum: 2 to 4 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Fraud Operations, or Cyber-Security.


• Preferred: Proficiency in SQL and Data Visualization (Tableau/Power Bi).
