Job summary

R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Our common goal at KONE is to keep the end users safe and people flow uninterrupted. KONE moves 2 billion people every day and that means our services can really make cities better places to live.

What will you be doing?

• Support and manage engineering and calculation-related applications used within Shared R&D, such as E-Site Survey, Mathcad, and similar tools.
• Coordinate with application owners, business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to ensure application availability, performance, and user satisfaction.
• Manage application configurations, access controls, service accounts, and operational support activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate resolution across technical teams.
• Participate in the modernization of legacy applications to cloud-native platforms and services.
• Support API-based integrations and secure connectivity between applications and enterprise systems.
• Contribute to solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment of new integrations and enhancements.
• Utilize REST APIs, scripting, and automation to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and system interoperability.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts with application teams, IT operations, infrastructure teams, and security stakeholders.
• Track remediation progress, ensure timely closure, and maintain compliance with organizational security requirements.
• Support secure authentication, authorization, and integration practices.
• Support and administer licensing tools used across R&D departments.
• Monitor license utilization, availability, optimization opportunities, and compliance requirements.
• Provide stakeholder support and reporting related to software license usage.
• Manage and support ITSM processes including: Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Fulfillment, Knowledge Management
• Ensure timely resolution of operational issues and continuous service improvement.
• Coordinate testing, deployment, release, and operational readiness activities.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team objectives.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, support procedures, and technical guidelines.
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams.

Required Skills

• Good understanding of both cloud-hosted and on-premises application environments.
• Experience in application support, IT operations, enterprise application administration, system integrations, or related technical operations roles.
• Basic understanding of vulnerability management and security remediation processes.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, system integrations, authentication mechanisms, and secure application connectivity.
• Experience with scripting or automation using one or more of the following: Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, C#, SQL, Similar technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business, IT, security, vendor, and application teams.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating within cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of application supports fundamentals, including access management, configuration, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in application modernization and migration from Windows/on-premises platforms to cloud solutions.
• Exposure to engineering applications, R&D tools, or licensing platforms such as E-Site Survey, Mathcad, or similar enterprise tools.
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms and security tooling.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments, cloud platforms, virtual machines, subscriptions, and application hosting operations.
• Knowledge of API security, authentication methods, service accounts, and access management practices.
• Experience with reporting, dashboards, operational metrics, and usage analytics.
• Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring solutions, and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with KONE tools, processes, and R&D ways of working.
