Job summary

The Hans Foundation invites applications for the UNNATI – Inclusive Education project in Gurugram. This contractual role supports children with disabilities and aims to enhance school inclusion through teacher capacity building and inclusive practices.

Applicants should hold an RCI license and have 1–3 years of relevant experience, with exposure to TLM kits and community-based rehabilitation. Strong communication, empathy, and attention to detail are essential; reporting to Project-Coordinator,

Qualifications

  • Mandatory RCI license as personnel/professional in Special education.
  • 1–3 years of relevant work with children with special needs.
  • Expertise in understanding and using TLM kits (specialized for CWSN/CWD).
  • Desirable: Experience in Community based rehabilitation and Disabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and capability to relate and interact with multicultural teams.
  • Giving close attention to details and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive or confidential information.
  • Have an empathetic & compassionate attitude and sensitive towards the needs of children.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, craft possible solutions and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Regular observation and analysis.
  • Intervention and assessment (as per the severity level).
  • Home visits and Follow-up services (as per the severity level).
  • Timely record keeping & documentation on dashboard.
  • Capacity building and refresher training of teachers of inclusivity model.
  • Recommendation and usage of TLM during remedial/special sessions.
  • Timely PTM and group sessions with primary and secondary caregivers.
  • Referral (if required).

The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities.

Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs. Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organizations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

About project: Disability is a multi-dimensional and complex concept and there is no universally accepted, uncontroversial definition of disability. Awareness about persons with disabilities is slowly increasing with respect to nomenclature and certain visible characteristics. However, the attitudes toward persons with disabilities (PwD) is still one of charity and sympathy.

The goal of the Project: To improve the school ecosystem through inclusion and support for children with disability (CwD). Align with Sustainable Development, Goal 4 - Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

General Information
  • Location: Gurugram
  • Type of Employment: Contractual, renewable basis project requirements

Duties & Responsibilities

Vacations (summer and winter) Duties
  • Revision of intervention worksheets and modules
  • Duty allocation to other project of disability in Delhi NCR (any 05 cities)
  • Sensitization community and handholding of FLWs on early identification

Educational Qualifications

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)
