KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibility of the Student/ School Counselor would include, but are not limited to -

Academic Responsibilities:

• Guide students in academic planning, subject choices, and learning strategies.
• Provide career counseling, aptitude assessments, and higher education guidance.
• Support students in goal setting, career planning, and decision-making.
• Organize career guidance workshops, seminars, and awareness sessions.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Maintain confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
• Prepare reports on student welfare activities, counseling outcomes, and interventions.
• Liaise with school management regarding student support strategies and policies.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and administration to address student needs.
• Refer students to external specialists (psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists) when necessary.
• Collaborate with medical and special education teams to provide holistic support.

Community Engagement Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one counseling sessions for students facing emotional, social, academic, or behavioral challenges.
• Identify early signs of emotional, social, or learning difficulties and provide timely interventions.
• Conduct group counseling sessions and workshops on stress, peer relationships, and study skills.
• Monitor student well-being, attendance, and behavioral patterns.
• Collaborate with parents and teachers to support student growth and address concerns.

• Conduct awareness sessions for students, teachers, and parents on student well-being.
• Support peer mentoring programs and student leadership initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Masters degree in psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Professional certification in counseling, school counseling, or child psychology preferred.
• 35 years of experience in Special Educator or child/adolescent counseling.
• Knowledge of career guidance tools, aptitude assessments, and mental health practices.

COMPETENCIES / SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills. Empathetic, patient, and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Knowledge of child development, mental health, and educational psychology.

Compensation: 30,216.18 - 65,261.58 per month
