Job summary

Changing Lives Productions, the video production arm of Dhar Mann Studios, seeks a highly skilled Sound Designer/Editor to elevate our narrative content with expert sound design, Foley, and final audio mixing. You will thrive in a fast-paced post-production environment, delivering premium audio across scripted dramas and social content.

You should have 3–5 years of experience, a degree in Audio Engineering or related field, and mastery of Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, and Adobe Audition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Sound Designer or Audio Mixer in a fast-paced production.
• Expert-level proficiency with DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Adobe Audition).
• Strong knowledge of audio signal flow, acoustics, and mixing techniques.
• Experience with plugins for EQ, compression, noise reduction, and reverb.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with editors and directors.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Passion for storytelling through sound.
• Experience with iZotope RX for noise reduction.

Responsibilities

This role is crucial for elevating our narrative content through expert sound design, Foley, and final audio mixing. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of audio post-production workflows, a meticulous ear for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing significantly to our high-volume output of scripted dramas and content.

Mixing & Mastering

• Perform final audio mixes for all projects, balancing dialogue, music, sound effects, and Foley to create a cohesive and professional final product
• Ensure all mixes meet broadcast loudness standards and technical specifications for various distribution platforms when needed
• Conduct quality control checks on all delivered audio, confirming all tracks are properly synced, free of errors, and consistent in quality

Workflow & Management

• Manage audio assets and project files, ensuring all sessions are organized, archived, and easy to access for future use or revisions
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to audio software, hardware, and file formats
• Report on department metrics such as mix volume and common technical challenges to help the post-production team make informed operational decisions
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices in audio post-production.

What You Have

• Experience in a high-volume content creation environment, preferably with scripted narrative content.
• Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Sound Designer, Audio Mixer, or similar role in a fast-paced production setting.
• Expert-level proficiency with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or Adobe Audition.
• Strong understanding of audio signal flow, acoustics, and mixing techniques.
• Proficiency with industry-standard audio plugins for EQ, compression, noise reduction, and reverb.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate creative and technical concepts.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic.
• A passion for storytelling through sound.
• Experience with advanced noise reduction software (e.g., iZotope RX).
