Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Solution Engineer to join our HVDC team in India. You will own technical activities for HVDC reference solutions and collaborate with Solution Owner and regional teams to ensure scalable, high-quality execution across regions.

The role involves developing engineering docs, providing deployment guidance, and leading SMEs through DFMEA and design decisions while aligning with lifecycle and service goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
• Proven track record in technical leadership, system architecture, or complex project engineering across regions.
• Strong knowledge of HVDC systems, power electronics, control and protection systems, grid integration, and power system dynamics.
• Experience spanning bid support, design, execution, commissioning, and lifecycle activities.

Responsibilities

• Own technical activities to develop and maintain HVDC reference solutions for consistency and scalability.
• Create and update engineering docs, guidelines, toolkits, templates, and deployment methodologies.
• Ensure technical interfaces are correctly identified and verified across engineering functions.
• Provide technical support during ITO and OTR phases with deviations approved.
• Lead or coordinate SMEs for system architecture-focused DFMEA and risk reviews.
• Support bid teams with solution framing, governance, and deployment guidance.
• Incorporate RoE and lessons learned into reference solutions for quality and competitiveness.
• Support lifecycle management including obsolescence and installed base strategies.

Job Description Summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Solution Engineer to join our HVDC team. This role will provide technical expertise for work associated with the HVDC reference solutions across the full solution lifecycle, with primary focus on working with the Solution Owner — Technical Lead on solution architecture, deployment support, regional enablement, technical governance, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will own technical activities for elements of the HVDC reference solutions, enabling consistent, scalable, and high-quality execution across regions. This Engineer will also work with colleagues in the SL and Regions to progress and conclude these technical activities in a coordinated and collaborative manner to always ensure the best overall outcome for the business.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Own technical activities to develop and maintain the HVDC reference solutions, ensuring consistency, scalability, standardization, and configurability
• Develop, maintain, and improve engineering documentation, technical guidelines, toolkits, templates, and deployment methodologies to support efficient and repeatable execution
• Ensure technical interfaces are correctly identified, managed and verified with the appropriate engineering functions
• Provide technical support during ITO and OTR phases, ensuring reference solutions are correctly applied and having final approval for technical deviations from the reference solutions
• Collaborate with the engineering functions and subject matter experts as part of the team completing a DFMEA for the reference solutions, focusing on the system architecture level of each solution
• Support bid and execution teams with solution framing, technical governance, risk reviews, and deployment guidance for major opportunities and strategic projects
• Work to incorporate RoE, lessons learned and in-service performance feedback into reference solutions to improve quality, competitiveness, and serviceability
• Support lifecycle management activities including obsolescence management, installed base support, service opportunity development, and alignment with service and supply chain stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and certification expectations across all regions where HVDC solutions are deployed
• Support the Solution Delivery Leader in the work planning and prioritization of activities in alignment with business and solution line objectives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, system architecture, reference solution development, or complex project engineering within a global or multi-region environment
• Strong understanding ofHVDC systems, power electronics, control and protection systems, grid integration, and power system dynamics
• Experience supporting multiple phases of the solution lifecycle, including bid support, design, execution, commissioning, and lifecycle support
• Proven ability to lead technical problem-solving, manage technical risk, and guide teams through complex engineering decisions
• Emerging ability to lead, coach, or coordinatesubject matter experts, or similar technical professionalsin a people leadership or matrix leadership capacity
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work across engineering, product, regional, commercial, and customer teams
